Reviews of Knappogue Castle Medieval Banquet
"Wonderful and fun interactive dinner show. Food and wine were great. The staff and actors were very good and friendly."
"Our Brendan Travels stopped for dinner, wine and entertainment. What a fantastic evening. I would highly suggest others to go."
"Fun evening with good food and lively entertainment. The midieval-themed dinner is served at long tables in three courses. All staff is dressed in period costume. Music, dancing and humor is performed on stage with some audience participation."
"The castle, what very little we got to see of it, was castle-like. But, mostly, we got out of our various buses, they gave us some honey mead to keep up happy (and it did!), while we waited for the other buses full of people to arrive, standing in an room just outside where we'd be eating. In the meantime, a very talented woman with played the harp, and eventually we were led into dinner, where we were fed some very basic and not very tasty chicken and something else, and were served probably the worst red and white wine I've ever tasted. Fortunately, our server was very nice and she got us a few more cups of honey mead. The performance was a bit entertaining, and I appreciated the skill of the performers. I realize that these folk have to make some money, and you have to pay someone to, at the very least, watch over us; but it would have been a lot more fun if we'd arrived in time to look around the grounds and stretch our legs a bit before we were stuffed into these relatively uncomfortable tables. Understanding that this is, in some sense, intended to 'duplicate' castle life, still, for what was paid for the meal, it could have been better."
"Looking at the reviews I wanted to add a little more detail- You're greeted at the beginning by actors who give you mead and then a medieval band plays a little while everyone comes in. You're seated in a large Hall and entertained between courses so the whole banquet flows really smoothly and there's never a dull moment. I also want to note that I went with two vegetarians and they were pretty happy with their food substitutes."
