"What a gem of a hotel !!! My husband and I stayed on Sat and we were so pleasantly surprised. Everything about our stay was fabulous. The food was so good. Real family run feel to the place which is so nice for a change. The staff were lovely and so helpful. The hotel is stunningly decorated throughout with an amazing attention to detail. "My wife and 2 kids (12 week old baby included) called into the Avalon House Hotel for breakfast on 5th of Feb last. We met Carlos on reception who guided us up to Level 1 to the breakfast room. Our 12 week old started to get upset, and we said we would leave, as would be unfair on the other guests- Carlos suggested he could open up the bar for us downstairs and have breakfast brought down which we took him up on. The bar was lovely, well heated and breakfast was yum :) Sincere thanks for Carlos for accommodating us- it was really appreciated. Would highly recommend."
"Attended a function recently in the ballroom. The place was absolutely freezing and we all had our coats on while eating our meal. The service was very slow between courses but the staff and food itself were fine. The bar area was full and had a beautiful stove fire going."
