"The very best Guest House and amazing breakfast ,with all local and homemade produce. Lovely big rooms traditionally furnished and spotlessly clean ,everything was the best quality . Jerry and Dinah were excellent hosts ,nothing being too much trouble,we didn’t want to leave ,will definitely be back . Also great location for station ,shops etc ."
"I‘ve enjoyed the stay in Ivyleigh House. The breakfasts were excellent, especially smashed eggs on the homemade bread. Hosts are very nice and helpful. Room was very cozy and clean. I can highly recommend this place."
"Great location near Slieve Bloom parks. Amazing breakfast and granola as well. Minor complaints: Room toilet was a bit hard to flush, carpet was damp in places, low water pressure in shower but otherwise a beautiful old style place."
"We were passing through Portlaoise and found this great place! We had a huge, comfortable room. All within easy walking distance of everything in town. The highlight was Jerry and his wife- they were wonderful! The homecooked breakfast the next morning ( i had the smoked salmon and the best egg dish ever) cooked right there by Dinah and served up by Jerry and his grandson. We visited with other guests from Kerry over breakfast and it was thoroughly enjoyable. A really great, relaxed meal with friends. Just a great stay with great hosts. A really special place."
