"ACL Reconstruction – Quadriceps Tendon graft. Being in the industry, as an Exercise Physiologist and Performance coach to many athletes, I’ve seen a lot of ACL reconstructions and various ranges of success with rehabilitations. As athletes we want not just to move pain free but the ability to perform, which is an added layer. I also knew I’d be a bit of a pain for whoever I sat in front of about my torn ACL; as I worked with and have done a lot of research within my domain for return to play / return to performance post ACL reconstruction. Firstly, a big mention to Mairead & Michelle, the administrative & support staff, who put me very much at ease off the bat and everything was incredibly well orchestrated, their professionalism is second to none, as I felt like I was in great hands upon being greeted for my first consultation. Mr. Bowler is very passionate about the work he does and you sense this upon meeting him. From a technical perspective, he is top tier! Mr. Bowler broke everything down from the injury, potential grafts pro/cons (even taking my job into consideration with the graft options) and recommendations. A pleasant surprise about Mr. Bowler was that he gave you adequate time in your consultation, listened and was a great communicator; not something you could say about a lot of high demand consultants. After the first consultation, I had the utmost trust in Mr. Bowler and was ready to get things underway. I had the surgery 2 weeks after and it was brilliant; in the acute phase I was surprised at how quickly I was back up and about walking. I made significant progress with my ROM at week 2 and by week 4 post-op had full ROM; which speaks for itself. I’m now coming up to 10 months post ACL reconstruction and I am right on track to get back to sport. Mr. Bowler also has incredible knowledge of the sub-acute and long-term functional rehabilitation for both high performance and recreational athletes. This is not a common attribute of orthopaedic surgeon/consultants; most of whom understand recent literature recommendations, but real-world practical application is another story. Mr. Bowler uses a progression-based model opposed to timeline model and oversees these progressions at periodic follow up consultations. I cannot speak highly enough of Mr. Bowler and his surgery."

"I tore my ACL along with other ligament damage. I was very fortunate to see Mr. Bowler one week after the accident. He immediately put me at ease, explained the injuries in detail and outlined my options. Surgery was scheduled for a week later and was extremely successful. "I have been using Declan over the last 4 years for helping with my hip pain, his expertise in the field puts you at ease straight away. Initially for lighter pain he advised different options, physio, cortisone steroid treatment and maybe surgery if pain persists. I went with cortisone as I work in the hospitality industry and needed immediate relief and couldn’t afford time off work. It was exactly what he said, a minor procedure which immediately relieved my pain. Unfortunately a few years later I was involved in a car accident which increased the laberal tear and I was now living with severe hip pain on a daily basis.
