"Absolute time wasters! I went in to get prescription lenses put into my own sunglasses. I was there about 30-45 mins just to talk to someone and hand in my glasses. I was told they would be ready in 4 days, I went back in 6 days later, waited 20 minutes, just to be told that they weren't ready so I left. 10 minutes after I left I got a call to tell me that they couldn't actually change the lenses because they couldn't take out the original non-prescription lenses. The manager was aware that they couldn't do my glasses and didn't bother calling me to tell me. I went back in, got my sunglasses back and got a refund. I went to Crowleys Opticians on Grand Parade that same day and the fella working there, Patrick, took the original lenses out right in front of me and they've fitted them perfectly with new prescription lenses within 5 days! Never going back to Specsavers, waiting times are disgusting and so is the customer service."
"1st Bad experience with Specsavers Opera Lane after 2 bad experiences in Specsavers Wilton, Firstly kept waiting an hour and a half for our appointment, Spent an arm and a leg with Medical card as our prescription was so high, we were told we would need the extras, Told to collect in a week, rang before going to collect was told maybe tomorrow, rang again next day told maybe today or tomorrow was also told second pair wouldn't be in till next week as they were from a different supplier, asked why we weren't told this on the day, no answer for it, asked could they get on to supplier to find out was one pair in today's shipment, they couldn't, So here we are in Limbo, Don't know what's happening, The staff seem well trained in selling you stuff to get extra money from you but they don't seem to be trained in how to secure repeat custom, Definitely last time dealing with Specsavers, never worth the Stress or hassle, My advice unless you have very good willpower, plenty of money or time, Shop somewhere else. Forced to give a 1 star"
"The service in this shop in Cork City was fantastic, professional and well done. Staff at every stage were polite, helpful, answered all the questions."
"I turned up 10 minutes before my appointment at 3pm and completed necessary documentation and was actually seen at 3.15pm, only to be told that I would have to pay there and then, as my PPS was "queued" on the system. I then enquired how I was to be reimbursed if I paid and was given no clear indication how this was to be done. Loose options were to claim back through Revenue or Specsavers once my PPS was cleared! I found this to be totally unacceptable and suggested PPS numbers should be cleared before arrival as all details were already given. This should serve as a warning to others expecting this ENTITLED service to be free without hassle. ADDITION. I have just tried the link to give more details as requested in the reply - this link cannot be accessed which leads me to believe this is a "cop-out" to any negative and honest reviews. I have read quite a few of the negative reviews and there is an abnormal amount of 1 star, so anyone reading these reviews are none the wiser on how their service and individual issues can be improved - again a cop-out for what is meant to be a reputable high street company!!! No answers given."
"I went to this store to follow up on hearing aid care. Customer agent Kym assisted me with this. I have to say she went over and beyond to assist me. I would recommend coming here for eye testing and also hearing testing. They also have state of the art eye equipment imagining where you can have scan done and they compare years later to see eye progression. I would highly recommend you ask for Kym to assist you. She is extremely polite, kind and very helpful. Thank you for such great service Kym."
