"I pre booked a cab for 1:50pm yesterday and called to confirm an hour before. Thankfully the driver showed up 5 minutes early. I was going from one point on the Lee Road to another, trip was 2 minutes, 1.2km. No meter in the car. When we pulled up I asked how much and he said "€10." I asked if he was joking, I'd get to town for a tenner and he said "Not in this day and age... How about €8?". I kept looking at him and he said "How about €5?". I quicky gave him cash and got out. Contacted Wilton cabs and gave them a chance to reply and got no response. Unprofessional and likely illegal conduct. Edit: Attempting to intimidate a customer who's had a poor experience and is rightfully leaving a public review of their experience and giving their opinion is really not a good look. I was right to question the driver regarding the fare, and clearly he knew he was in the wrong when he immediately suggested €8, and then €5. It was unprofessional. Any response as to why he immediately tried to charge me the maximum fare for a 2 minute journey? Reported the incident to the NTA and won't be using your service again."
