Drombeg Stone Circle , Glandore, County Cork
About the Business
Welcome to Drombeg Stone Circle, an ancient site located in the beautiful County Cork region of Ireland. Our establishment combines historical significance, cultural preservation, and fascinating exhibit displays that make for a unique and memorable tourist attraction experience.
The Drombeg Stone Circle, also known as the Druid's Altar, is a prehistoric monument of the Bronze Age, dated back to 1100-800BC. Made up of a ring of 17 standing stones and two portal stones, this unique structure was once believed to be a site for conducting rituals, ceremonies, and possibly even astronomical observations.
As a museum and point of interest, Drombeg Stone Circle offers an in-depth look into the ancient heritage of Ireland. Our exhibits and artifacts include a collection of kitchenware and tools used by the inhabitants of the site, as well as a display of Irish pottery and rock art. Visitors can also learn about the spiritual beliefs and practices of the people who created this stunning monument.
We are proud to be a vital part of the local community, and our establishment also serves as a venue for cultural events such as live music performances, outdoor activities, and educational workshops.
So if you're looking for an adventure with a touch of history, don't miss Drombeg Stone Circle. Our doors are open to visitors of all ages and backgrounds, and we look forward to sharing our passion for Irish heritage with you.

Reviews
"It is impressive. You are standing where our ancestors built their sanctuary thousands of years ago and yet lived right next to it. It can be very muddy here, so rubber boots are advisable at least in autumn."
"The roads are quite narrow on route to the Stone Circle, but they offer a few parking spaces. It's a short walking route of approx 180m, the Stone Circle itself is exquisite. Surrounded by breathtaking views, this is definitely something to add to your travel list. Easily accessible to the public and free entry."
"Incredible site.. not much history to learn as it's so old that we can mostly just speculate. But very cool to see and amazing views of the land all the way to the ocean. Roads on the way are very tight and narrow but everyone used caution and it wasn't too long of a drive. Highly recommend!"
"Just go, rain or shine, feel the energy. Be respectful while there, we stepped away to allow others private time close to the stones. Hard to explain if you've not visited a place like it. Read the info posted with drawings while there. It's a bit of a walk if you've trouble getting around but maintained footpath most of the way. We go every time we can while in Cork. We were fortunate to go back on Summer Solstice this time."
"Only 4 stars because it was quite wet and slippy. However, if you love stone circles, you'll not be disappointed here. Steeped in history, Drombeg is worth the visit. Great views from the site as well."
