"I love their gym. Great space and equipment. Fairly gutted it ended on a bad note overall. I've had a couple of issues when it comes to payments and getting receipts. I had a been with them for nearly a year when I had to take a break. When I rejoined in 07/11, I emailed asking if there was a way around the joining fee again having a two month hiatus, told no, so rejoined online and paid. Unaware to me, the direct debit had not been set up after providing my CC information on a checkout (and in writing on original sign up). No indication that it needs to be set up additionally. This morning 24/01 attempted to go about 8am, told I wasn't able to enter as I had β¬110 outstanding. No mention the few times I'd been up there and talking in person the past two months (left my keys there one day so was speaking to someone at the reception) no mention of it when rejoining by highlighting on checkout or in person, no email notification to say otherwise (email provided on sign up) or phone/message (also provided). I attempted to pay half but declined 3 times. On the phone to bank, declined on merchants side. After ringing the bank and taking a moment to think about it I requested to cancel in the end rather than forking out β¬110 end of January. I was snarkly informed "I was already cancelled due to non payments" so if you join online, remember to bring your card details on your next in person visit to provide them with in person to set up DD to avoid embarrassment. I understand paying it. However, any end customer that provides their details via a payment platform usually have it sorted automatically and if you don't inform the end customer of additional steps required on their end, I'm not sure how else I could have gone about avoiding this problem without being notified on sign up or told afterwards. if I provided the information on joining in person over a year ago and on rejoining online and the details have been the same. I also requested invoices or list of payments before Christmas which was another load of hassle of being back and forth for a month about that. I required their billing information on company headed paper with list of payments or invoices for records and claiming but an editable Word document titled 'receipt' doesn't suffice as a receipt or proof of purchase. Edit since response: I publicly left a review having been there in person trying to resolve it. When I requested to cancel having been told I cannot enter without paying immediately I was sniggered at being told I was already cancelled having not paid. After that, there was no options provided to resolve by your Team. I was not informed you need my information additionally having signed up again online, wasn't told in person in the two months unpaid and been there a couple of times in that time period, it wasn't highlighted on checkout or informed via email. As for the invoice, the original discussion took 5 weeks to get the version I did. I will not be ringing to further discuss as I have found an alternative solution."
"This is possibly the best Gym in the country, really love this Gym, all new machines."
"Great gym, freindly staff, can get busy at peak times like most gyms. However plenty of equipment, machines and a separate gym just for women. Pool, sauna and steam room is a bonus at the end of the working week to unwind."
