Harvey Norman Kinsale Road

"Poor quality furniture.....and even poorer customer service. My wife and I purchased a new bed from Harvey Norman for our new house. I assembled the bed in December 2021, and in February the side rail screw sheered out and the bed collapsed whilst my wife was feeding our new born. I contacted Harvey Norman after sales who, initially, were helpful. They dispatched a technician who confirmed the screws provided with the product were sub standard and not long enough to support the bed frame. He temporarily fixed the frame by drilling larger screws diagonally through the side rails. He then informed me he had ordered replacement side rails and they would be fitted once recieved. That was on 10/03/2022 and after contacting Harvey Norman multiple times (who told me spares may take 16 weeks to arrive) I have still recieved no update or correspondence from anyone. Then on 29/06/2022 when I emailed for an update I got an automatic reply stating my case had been closed! (Why? When our issue clearly hadn't been resolved?) Our bed is still bolstered together a year later and no sign of a permanent repair being made, after contacting Harvey Norman multiple times for an update. I will not be retuning to Harvey Norman. I will now be taking legal action via the CSOL and small claims procedure to have this resolved."

"There's endless stories between myself and girlfriend of horrible customer service. From the staff being untrained towards what they have sold to you with insurance, to basic consumer rights and never has a problem been solved under warranty without paying more money. Brilliant shop with all the latest technology, but I try my very best to avoid, and urge all friends and family members to shop in "currys", despite the longer drive."

"It seems to be standard practice for Harvey Norman to have their furniture products chronically understocked. I have ordered twice from them and both times had to wait several months to receive parts of my orders. The second time I had to badger them repeatedly just to get some idea of when I'd receive what I ordered. Needless to say there was no such delay when charging my debit card. If you need something quickly and not several months after you ordered it, you're really rolling the dice by ordering from Harvey Norman."
