Reviews of Clonakilty Blackpudding Visitor Centre
"Absolutely loved it! The nicest woman at reception, audio tour was very informative and we loved the viewing gallery. Would recommend a thousand times over. The tasting at the end was amazing, got loads more than we expected."
"While you might not expect it, this is a not to be missed tour if you’ve any interest in Irish culture, history or quality foods. Very well laid out and accessible. Very good value at only a tenner €10 (December 2022), it’s a self guided tour of the history and origin of this national dish with an extensive sampling and tea or coffee at the end. Very friendly reception staff and you can even buy branded merchandise (plus the pudding, of course). Couldn’t fault any aspect of the whole thing. Best to visit on an empty stomach as the sampling at the end will fill you right up!"
"Very friendly welcome at the reception and shop area, the tour is entertaining and has nice little things to discover. you can tell the exhibition has been created with love for this unique product and the city of Clonakilty. I liked everything served at the tasting, which is included in the entrance fee, making it all in all a really fair deal."
"A little gem of a spot! Spotted this online and being fans of the Clonakilty black pudding we decided it would be a novel venture to learn more about it. It's a self guided tour where you have a headset and can take your time looking at each portion (especially handy when you have a small child) there's some interaction points too. After the tour there's a tasting of the puddings on offer, we were pleasantly surprised by how much we liked the vegetarian option - although the black pudding is the clear King in my book. A portion of cocktail sausages included too. Also tea/coffee is provided, our coffee was perfect too. The staff in the taster area were so lovely and even allowed us move closer to the kitchen so we could keep a better eye on our son when he played with the kitchen. Hit the giftshop after and got some souvenirs, they even have a fridge so you can buy the puddings to take home with you! 10/10 for a little trip around very relaxing."
"Brand new attraction, small but with loads of attention to detail. I mean, after all its a museum about black pudding/blood sausage or whatever its called in your country. The tasting at the end is the perfect culmination. This is a self guided tour and honestly wasn't expecting it to be this well done."
