Reviews of Cloverhill Veterinary Surgery
"Brought my little man Max to the clinic a few weeks ago when he was feeling unwell. The staff were extremely helpful and quick to put my mind at ease that Max would be ok. One of the assistants in particular that I spoke to was really friendly and answered all the questions I asked! Super service!!"
"On the 12Th of October approx 8 pm, my Dog a 8 years old German Shepard Dakota had a Seizure. We rang clover hill vets and explained to them what happened. They informed us that we should bring Dakota in tomorrow as it may be too stressful to bring him into the clinic tonight. Later that evening I did some research into dog seizures (I’m not a vet or have any experience I was going off the factors that I witnessed) There are many causes of seizures in dogs. Idiopathic epilepsy, the most common cause of seizures is an inherited disorder, but its exact cause is unknown. Other causes include liver disease, kidney failure, brain tumours, brain trauma, or toxins. After watching hours of videos, I concluded that Dakota had epilepsy or has a tumour of some sort. I explained what I witnessed to the veterinary assistant when I passed over Dakota to them. A couple of hours later they called us and informed that they found the root of the problem. Dakota has a heart condition and is heart is not great. They informed that his heart was worse than our 10-year-old Rottweiler who was diagnosed with a bad heart. They put him on heart medication for 14 days and said that should hopefully stop the seizures. 14 days later Dakota had another seizure. We called the vets to inform but no vet would talk to us. We had the secretary talk to us each time and was adamant that my dog had a heart condition. From all the research I know well this was not the case. I took Dakota to another vert to try and get to the bottom of the problem. It turns out that Dakota did not have a heart problem. His heart was strong and healthy. Dakota was then Diagnosed with a tumour on his spleen. Dakota then was scheduled to have an operation on the 18th of November to get his spleen removed. Dakota had the operation but 2 days after died as he started to have seizures uncontrollably as the damage was already done. From all the research that I have done it all boils back to early detection. I am not saying that Dakota may have not died but I am saying that if he was diagnosed earlier, he may have had a better chance of survival. We contacted clover hill and I was outraged at their response. In my opinion pure neglect was the reason my poor beautiful friend died. We informed them on what they missed, and their response was they were sorry, but they were extremely busy, and the owner is having personal issues with a sick friend and just after having a baby. I am still outraged. If Clover hill was not able to give my Beautiful Dog, there undivided attention they should have told us this and we could of took Dakota elsewhere earlier. I am writing this review to share my story and hoping that this will not happen to another pet. I spent a lot of money in clover hill on tablets and appointments and I feel they were only ever after my money."
"Wonderful, knowledgeable vets, caring , friendly staff all around. Thank you so much for your help and for all the good you do, especially helping with TNR programs. My most recent visit was today with my mommy cat and her two babies. It had been suggested by a different professional that perhaps they were infected with FIV or had leukaemia, but a simple, inexpensive, quick test revealed that they are suffering with neither of those two terrible diseases. Just a simple dose of flu. Again, thank you so much. And i highly recommend your expert advice and caring manner with which you handle the animals."
