Reviews
"Had a wonderful walk through the dunes and along the estuary. The dunes are amazing, like a lunar landscape except greener. We spotted seals and several duck species in the estuary."
"Great nature reserve partly on the beach, partly on sand dunes. Take binoculars to see loads of birds and seals."
"Great location for stunning dune scenery and seals. Car park entrance is only 2.3m wide."
"One of my favourite places to visit especially in the sun. A great walk to Newburgh beach from the car park or you can take the path to Hackley Bay which is a beautiful and quiet spot. There are a few places of interest along the way including the ruin of the Kirk. Plenty of information boards dotted around informing you of the habitat and wildlife. Love it."
"The carpark can be congested as this is a very popular place to walk and reconnect with nature, its a rough path along the estuary with good views over to Newburgh and then diverts over the dunes to the beach. The area to the south is not accessible due to the seals and the Ternary , the walk up the beach to the site of the Forvie kirk with the huge skies is amazing . The kirk is now just a 4 walled ruin in a wonderful location in the reserve and then its an easy walk back to the car park. Its a fantastic place to visit and take in the sights and sounds."
