"We held a family function at the Alverbank Hotel in December. It was really excellent. The place is lovely, atmospheric and charming. The staff could not have been more helpful or charming. Ethan was particularly good. From booking to execution, Ethan could not have done more. He has a real ‘can do’ attitude and a friendly and approachable demeanour. Nothing was too much trouble and his attention to detail was admirable. One of the delightful owners, Abby, was also amazing, helping to sort out some issues with the slideshow we were using. I can’t recommend the Alverbank too highly!"

"We went there for the craft fair which was nice but could have been bigger. They were serving tea and coffee in paper cups which I thought was a good idea."

"We stayed for 3 nights with relatives and friends to celebtate our wedding. The accommodation was ideal for our special day with a buffet evening before. The food was excellent and the staff amazing, nothing was too much for them. A particular thanks to Billie who ensured everything went according to plan. We thoroughly recommend this delightful hotel."

"Lovely building in a great setting. Staff were helpful and everything well presented. Food service in the bar/ restaurant was a leisurely pace but food was very tasty and reasonably priced. Nice location next to woods and park, and near the pebbly beach. Only criticism would be that if the bar isn't going to be open most nights a small fridge in the room would be kind especially for the very hot weather we have been having. Not many shops or other pubs and bars close by, so plan your visit and meals accordingly! A continental breakfast, but well presented and served in the lovely dining room which opens out on to the gardens."
