"Terrible service all round the medical have alot to answer for,for their strange and unkind behaviours over the covid period. If your working in a customer related environment,but you lack the basic requirements needed for the job.People are lacking in many ways, and i feel the nurses and doctors are becoming sick mentally ,and have no sense of feel or empathy and without realising their have made soo many fundamental errors within their practice. Every single person in life needs to question their own mental health and their reality. I dont have any faith in the national health service.I dont like the way those unprofessional nurses in the ward telling us that you can only go only two at a time to visit loved ones. Doctors and nurses dont know everything and are not miracle workers. No one should be told who they can and cannot visit,shame on those who are pushing everything that is wrong now that is coming out into the light with regards to covid 19. Medical professionals over the pandemic are a big let down, we asked one of the staff were they busy over lockdown,the answer he replied was no! so there we go we have to question everything and not to rely on medical intervention."
"I, Jenny, came into the A and E Department by ambulance after a bad fall on Sunday. I would like to thank the ambulance crew for their kindness and care and all the staff in A and E for treating my injuries so thoroughly and compassionately. I answered a phone survey a couple of days after the event and was in a lot of pain from my ribs and did not express how grateful I was. I hope this expresses my appreciation of all you do. Thankyou."
"I was taken to hospital for a cyst rupture on my ovary. It took less than 5 minutes for them to triage me. When they saw the pain I was in and how my heart wasn’t coping, they brought me back and sorted me instantly! They also called my mum every time there was a new update on my health. Thank you to all the doctors and nurses who kept my spirits bright and making me laugh!"
"My husband went to his GP complaining of extreme fatigue and aching legs. On examination, GP realised this was heart-related and I rushed him down to A&E with GP letter. Given what we read about the pressure on hospitals at the moment, it was such a relief that he was triaged quickly and admitted, initially into the A&E ward, for observation to track down what was causing his heart to race. After two nights he was admitted to the ACU, where he remained for nearly a week while they continued to monitor him etc. From start to finish, this hospital has been exemplary. His condition was diagnosed, treatment given, and he was finally discharged with follow up care in place. Within 2 weeks he had been contacted to check on his progress, with appointments put in place to see the heart nurse and to have another procedure that may help improve his condition. I find it hard to read some of the negative reviews here. Nurses and doctors are people, like us, and 99% of the time are entirely professional, yet we have no idea of the pressures upon them at work or at home. No decent health professional intends to make patients' lives worse in any way at all. Our lives and wellbeing depend upon them, and they know this. If you've never had an 'off' day, you are not human. And if minor things go wrong just remember that this is real life, and that does happen sometimes. A nurse may sometimes be struggling. A department may be short staffed. I've seen this at first hand - but don't play out your frustrations on them. You may not like the food - but you aren't paying for it, they have tight budgets, and aim to provide healthy, nourishing food at a time when food prices are rising and they are short of staff. Of course, things may occasionally go badly wrong. That's when the patient has cause to complain, but otherwise we all need to show forbearance and gratitude to these wonderful people who are doing what may seem to them to be a thankless task in a very difficult time. We are both very grateful to St. Richards for seeing my husband through this and possibly saving his life. We've both been inpatients there over the years on separate occasions, and at no time have we felt endangered, but at every time we have felt well cared for and with our health problems successfully resolved. I've had two elderly family members die there, and both were cared for with great kindness in their dying days. This is a hospital that takes its role very seriously, has a great ethos, and we should be grateful to have it here for us."
"I attended an appointment for a procedure. Upon arrival the receptionist insisted I wear a face mask. I explained I'm exempt but she had such an attitude and was so determined to get her own way that she then tried to bully me into it by threatening that they might refuse to treat me! When I was called in, I was offered a visor which was much better. Why didn't the receptionist offer a visor? She should try being more compassionate and less condescending!"
