Spice Island

"Visited recently for a friend's birthday. This pub is owned and operated by Greene King, some of its pubs of which I've been to before. We initially sat outside, using the app to order. Our drinks were brought out by a lovely Scottish lass, who commended our bravery for sitting outside on a chilly November evening. Throughout our visit she was so very lovely! Drinks came promptly after ordering, and as did the food we ordered too. I really enjoyed the beef burger I had - the patty was really flavourful and moist, but not so much that it made anything else soggy. I really liked the addition of the rosemary salt on the fries, too. Both my partner and our friend enjoyed their meals, too. Despite the football being on, the pub's atmosphere was really relaxed, with other patrons contently watching along and chatting amongst themselves. This, alongside the warm and charming decor, really gave The Spice Island Inn an air of camaraderie. If you want to pop down to watch a game, or catch something else that may be on, the TVs this pub has are of a more than decent size, and make for a comfortable viewing experience."

"Definitely worth sitting upstairs for a fantastic view overlooking the spinnaker and Portsmouth and watching the ferries come and go. I had the nachos which were really good with "proper" nachos, not just a pack of Doritos! The fish and chips were very good too. Usual Greene king beers. Unfortunately the Spice Island beer was not on when we visited."

"Wonderful spot for a drink in Portsmouth! The views from here are splendid - straight across the water. Perfect for watching the ferries go past. Friendly service and very reasonable prices."
