"We registered both our dogs here last year when we moved to the area. 2 golden retrievers one was 8 weeks at the time, the other almost 4 years old. Had to bring the pup here twice since then, both times when calling, and being seen all the staff are professional and lovely. When we first brought the pup he was 10 weeks, he seemed fine in himself but even though we'd only had him 2 weeks I could tell he wasn't right. These vets listened and agreed if I don't feel like he's very well he's obviously not. A quick antibiotic injection he perked up after a few hours! We've brought him again today after 4 days of diarrhoea and sickness, he's now a big boisterous 9 month old pup and they handled him great, even though he's an a handful! Left with some meds and advice after a full check up, feeling a lot less worried about our boy. We also raw feed which we've found In the past some vets are really against, these vets support it fully and don't try and force you to switch to what they get paid to advertise. In the nicest way I hope we don't see you again for a while, but if we do we know our boys will be well looked after and we won't be ripped off in charges! Xx"
"Friday 11th November was our first visit to the practice, my dog had been vomiting his stomach was distended and he was off colour. After a rather quick examination I was told fluid needed to be aspirated from his stomach, I had to ask for a nurse to be present as Ralph was very nervous at the vets( which should of been on his notes) and I was upset, blood was taken (results never really discussed) and I was asked to take him back on Monday for an ultrasound. Monday I took him back the nurse came from the back had no intention on familiarising herself with me or Ralph, asked me a few questions one being did I have insurance (no I didn’t) and took him into back, again I was upset by this as he was pulled across the floor as he was clearly nervous and not wanting to be there. I was called a few hours later and told several tumours had been found on his liver this was a three minute conversation ( screen shot taken) when I collected Ralph I asked if the vet was available to talk to and was told he was on his lunch break, I was given a bag of medication of which I wasn’t told what they were or when to give them, I had to research this, I was told to take him back in a month. Monday 5th December My beautiful Boy was put to sleep at home by Vet Care at home the vet and nurse couldn’t of been more compassionate and caring. I so regret using Hartsorne vets, I feel the level of service I received is a disgrace the only person I received any empathy or care from was Emily, the receptionist only spoke to me to tell me how much the bill was despite how upset I was. People’s pets are part of the family and maybe this practice needs to remember that! I carry out better consultations and give more time to my own clients and I’m a hairdresser. If you knew Ralph hadn’t got long to live then why wasn't time taken to tell me this and why was a care plan not put in place for him????? Disappointed doesn’t come close to how I’m feeling."
"Not sure about the advice we received here regarding service history not being important when buying a used car. Otherwise OK , no pressure test drive and pleasant staff, would be 5 stars if not for the comment re service history."
"Would like to thank Geoff and his assistants this morning in helping us with our difficult time with Trikki. Both were compassionate, you got us in early so we didn't have to wait, you made it a lot easier for us. Couldn't thank you at the time, to upset..Big Thank You Our first time at this vet our 15 Yr old jack russell is not well, 1st time at vets for her too. Good advice given to us, not just interested in how much money he can get out of you...we may still have to have her put to sleep, but she's been given extra time..really good sound advice given to us. Thank you so much to all the staff."
