"If everything goes fine, it's a good stay. But in case of issues, the customer service is not very helpful. Rooms are clean and studios are spacious."
"Do not go here. Security is never there and fire alarms are an occurring problem. What really baffled me was the fact that someone who has a bike has access to all rooms ! Walls are so thin and any noise can be heard. Only good this about it is the short distance to RGU."
"Caledon Court provides you with a decent student experience in a well-placed location for the RGU students. The accomodation gives you a good opportunity to benefit from spending time with friends in the well-equiped common area. Additionally, the rooms were also modern and spacious. However, there were certain problems that made my stay less comfortable, hence the 3 stars review. The frequency of the fire alarm was very disturbing, especially the ones that were happening during the middle of the night and you had to stay outside for an hour before somebody comes to turn it off. Although this is not a fault of their own, this situation happened much more frequently in this accommodation than in the others that I have stayed in. I also had repeating problems with the heating system and with the shower, which took a longer period for them to be solved. On a brighter side, my stay was much better because of the on-campus stuff, as Hannah was very receptive and open to deal with any difficulties that I was experiencing. One suggestion that I would gladly give to the management team would be to prioritise renting out rooms to students only. Having middle aged people to live in the same place as teenager students is not quite what would you expect from a 'Student Accomodation'."
"No financial support given, nor option to discuss tenancy agreement during Covid-19 pandemic. Received email stating they were 'discussing' issue with landlord and would received further reply. This message was also on their website between 9th April and 27th May 2020. Caledon Court /Fresh Student Living delayed their response to enable them to take final payment in April. They did not respond further to any tenancy agreement holiday / exit discussion. There are many other problems with Caledon Court, including excessive late evening noise and behavioural problems that are not handled by staff. The fire alarm is regularly set off via false alarms during early hours of the morning requiring all people to vacate the building. The office is regularly closed due to 'staff illnesses' and there is no cover provided. The shared flat communal areas were supposed to be deep cleaned, however, the kitchen units were dirty and had faulty shelves. There is no car parking available to students and parking in the immediate area requires a permit (not available to non-Aberdeen residents). Students and staff smoke close to the entry/exit gate, which means that it is impossible to be safe and avoid breathing second-hand smoke particles. I will not be using Caledon Court for my future student accommodation requirements. I would not recommend Caledon Court Fresh Student Living."
"The Worst customer service ever showing no respect nor professionalism especially when dealing with email responding (can take more than a week) and complaints get completely ignored. Have to pay for clothes washing machine (minimum £3.80) and dryer (£1.20). The washer’s drum is not even big enough to fit in enough clothes for such an expensive wash. You would also have to pay more if you choose and higher program for washing. The Worst engineering for a relatively “new” building; shower drains are too slow and have to shut the water off every 2mins for the drain to clear the water pooled. Heater only works when you turn it on and doesn’t keep the room temperature as desired so you would have to wake up cold in the middle of the night to turn it on. Have to sweep every couple days because of the enormous amounts of dusts that the ventilation and hall carpets bring into the room. The toilet light and ventilator don’t have a switch to turn on or off but rather have a motion sensor which is annoying having to hear to such noise for 15 extra minutes. Even the XBOX in the games room has 4 bad controllers and even the wire keeps disconnecting from the controller. Fire alarm goes off almost every two days and if it happens after office hours, we have got to wait for security to come and shut the alarm off after the firefighters finish their work. It is yes very close to RGU and looks fancy but it is not worth the money at all. There are so many places that are a lot cheaper and closer to supermarkets and RGU as well."
