"4 generations went for Mother’s Day lunch and we had a great time. Great kids menu, good variety and huge portions. Meals were piping hot and lovely presentation. Great value. Staff were attentive and very friendly. Look forward to returning."
"Just home after a 2 night stay with other family members as we were attending a wedding. We ate in the restaurant on our first night and the food was fabulous, staff extremely friendly and bar reasonably priced. Our rooms were clean and comfy."
"We stayed there in a family room for 1 night. Prior to booking, I had to ensure we had an early check-in. The staff member I dealt with via email was fantastic. We were allowed to check in before 3 pm (for an additional fee) which was very appreciated. The staff at the hotel were really friendly, polite and helpful. The gentleman at the front desk greeted us politely and was very welcoming. Our room was okay. It was a bit too hot but the radiator in the room wasn't on. However, the radiator the bathroom was roasting. The bed was comfortable. The room was very dated but I hear that they will be refurbishing rooms in the near future. Breakfast was good. There was a choice of cereal, toast, deli items and cooked foods. The only things I'd add are tattie scones and more pastries like pain au chocolate, cinnamon swirls etc. We also needed a highchair which we got without any issues. There's free parking available at the front and rear of the hotel. Overall, we had a pleasant stay."
"Firstly I want to say that the hotel staff were really lovely. Very helpful, friendly and clearly try hard. The room however, the carpet was so old and dirty looking I couldn't walk barefoot in the room. One of the handles at the window was broken and the shower heat must be incorrect as it was only bareable at the coldest setting (1/10) and was scalding hot at a medium setting (5/10). The bed is hard and there are no sockets near the bed either which is a personal pet peeve of mine. Another major issue being that the room and bed shook with what I assume is the firedoor that leads to a staff hallway and woke me up at 10pm, 2am and 5am as well as there being bags and bags of laundry along the hallway at 6am which was a fire and trip hazard. The other issue with the room I had tea bags and milk pots in my room which weren't replaced after day one and due to my work hours I was unable to stay for breakfast so missed out. I did ask for a packed lunch because of my work times of which I received a ham sandwich, an orange with mould and bruising on one side, a juice carton with no straw and a shortbread biscuits thing so was only able to eat the sandwich and biscuit. Overall the hotel is just not up to much at all which is sad when they have such nice staff. I see they claim refurbishment but they need to look at the heat settings in the shower as it's an accident waiting to happen. The issue with the bed shaking when the door is being used and the floors being exceptionally loud also leave you with a very low chance of getting any decent sleep."
