As a bar, The Stag & Huntsman offers a wide range of drinks, from locally brewed ales to fine wines and cocktails. Sample a pint of ale from the nearby Rebellion Brewery or sip on a glass of crisp white wine as you take in the stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
But The Stag & Huntsman is more than just a bar - it's also an establishment that offers a variety of lodging options for visitors. No matter where you stay, you'll be able to take advantage of our pub and restaurant, which offers delicious meals made from locally sourced ingredients. Dine on classic pub fare like fish and chips or sample more refined dishes like roasted duck breast with herb polenta.
And of course, The Stag & Huntsman is also a point of interest, thanks to its rich history and scenic location. "We didn't stay at the Hotel, and so I rated the rooms on the same basis as my overall rating. The service here is very good and the food excellent. It is a great place to stop off for lunch after doing a circular walk in the area, of which there are many. The car park is free for customers but only for 2 hours and you need to pop into the hotel. We just paid £4.00 for 6 hours parking to cover our walk and lunch."
"I had dinner there a few weeks ago with a friend. He had the fish and chips and I had the pheasant both were cooked to perfection. Really quiet as it was an early meal but great setting and friendly staff. Have been in the summer on numerous occasions and have always managed to find a seat in the garden area as the pub is off the beaten track."
"We didn’t eat anything to comment on the food, but the table near us was having fish and chips which looked really good. The coffee we had was great, very friendly staff nice atmosphere the garden looked amazing. It looked small on the outside but it’s very spacious inside. I’m definitely going for food there"
"The staff were very friendly including their lovely spaniel! I only stopped for breakfast. The sausage butty was really nice with excellent quality sausages and grilled roll. Sofa comfy, decor and general ambience - great. The toilets were also stunning. The village is stunning and the area picturesque. I really enjoyed a bike ride the day before."
"We were a large group for my sister in laws birthday and the service was AMAZING, the location is utterly beautiful. We stayed here 4 years ago for my brothers 40th and the service and accommodation was brilliant then. The owners are without doubt the nicest and laid back people. Wish we had someone like this closer to us. The staff were attentive and nothing on both occasions were too much trouble. Accommodation was super clean and comfortable ( we had a cottage with 3 couples sharing ) previously stayed in the pub and accommodation within is lovely also. Food was delicious and breakfast was just what we all needed after a tour of the local brewery the day previous. Hoping we can visit again very soon. Thanks so much for the warm hospitality you and your team always greet us with."
