Reviews of Highfield Pharmacy - Alphega Pharmacy
"As a wheelchair user this is probably the most inaccessible pharmacy I’ve been to. Their ramp does not have a flat bit at the top and the door is heavy so I am not able to get in the door without sliding back down the ramp. They don’t even have an accessible doorbell to notify them you can’t get in the door. The staff just watch me struggle instead of coming to help me. And half the time I’ll get in and then get blocked in as their driveway doesn’t allow for a wheelchair to get through when people park their car."
"Unending cause of stress. New students, please look for a different pharmacy, this one has always messed up anything I’ve needed them for. Whether it’s been giving me the wrong prescription and not refunding me almost £10 when try to return it because they gave me something other than what I asked for, or generally being slow and telling me they haven’t received any prescription requests from me. Absolutely not worth trying to use their service, please pick a better pharmacy, there are a few nearby."
"No mask protections and most the pharmacists weren't wearing masks either. This was on a day when there was not a single free hospital bed in Hampshire and cases are at an all time high. This is a healthcare setting. It isn't acceptable. I didn't feel safe picking up my medication. If you are clinically vulnerable, avoid!!!"
"Prior to the new management taking over the service received at Highfield Pharmacy was second to none but since the new management has been in place the service levels have dramatically dropped. In recent months the wrong medication ordered and we not happy when I wouldn’t accept that, they kept my medication in the wrong conditions and finally where unable to source for more than 16 weeks something that I was able to source in 2 working days from another chemist. My personal recommendation would be only use if you have no other choice."
"Whilst I've previously had a generally good experience, in the last year or so it's taken weeks to get my full prescription on more than one occasion. Some members of staff are helpful but on more than one occasion I've been treated rudely and even implied I was lying regarding why I needed a hydrocortisone cream. Whilst i appreciate they have to ask questions and be careful there's no need for the aggressive and rude manner more than one of their staff members bas shown. Most recently in September they provided only half my prescribed medication which should have been two months worth and told me I had up to a month to retrive the rest. When I went in 16 days later I was informed because I didn't collect it, they'd essentially written it off and told me they provided it to someone else. Instead of reordering what they already owed me, what I didn't realise they'd done was request another full prescription from my GP. When I returned shortly after to pick up my owed medication which was 1 months worth... they gave me one month only which I didn't question as I thought I was just picking up the half they owed me from September which should last me to November. Today my GP surgery confirmed they couldn't prescribe me anymore as I'd already been provided the full amount that was requested early by the pharmacy. Highfield Pharmacy claim they gave me the full amount when I went to pick up the remainder which I can confirm 100% they didn't. The fact they also required a new prescription from my GP instead of just ordering what they already owed me also means it goes on my record that im over using the medication and now I'm stuck where the GPs are concerned to provide me more understandably and the pharmacy essentially owes me which they don't seem to want to provide or admit AND my medical record is wrong as I didn't even request the additional prescription. This is medication I need to take daily and the pharmacy have completely messed things up for me. This is not the first time either. There's such and incredible lack or organisation and record keeping that it's impacted me negatively. Furthermore each time I've visited, there have been several people having non work related conversations whilst customers aren't being served. Half the time I don't get call backs when I'm told I will get one. It wouldn't surprise me if records are being fudged or at least not being recorded properly and I'm overall extremely unhappy with the service which recently has caused me severe stress as I'm anxious what will happen regarding my missing medication. This place used to be great so it's a shame but it's been a very long time in decline."
