"Second day of staying here, decent place and the rooms are decent sized. The Wifi is excellent and the bed, desk and en suite bathroom is worth it! Sadly the place has few downsides, they dont provide you with basic stuff such as a kettle or any form of bedding. You at least expect a kettle from them. Sadly they also charge you for laundry, like come on for over £700 a month you would expect the washing machine and dryer to be free. Also, the common room is quite bland, they could add some more pool or table tennis. Update 7.3.22 - they dont provide you with a cleaner and you are expected to clean the place. If your flat is not clean, they do inspection and send you a 3 day reminder. If you dont clean within they days, they threaten to charge you if they get a professional contract cleaner to clean the place. I recall living in Liberty point(Orion point now) which provided a weekly cleaner and it was cheaper than city gateway... the reception team downstairs are mostly friendly and helpful. Will update my review at the end of my stay if i remember, haha!"
"Expensive, far from the city, close to no amenities compared to other private and university accommodations. Rude security. Only come here if you want to be in isolation and focus on your studies otherwise it's a depressing experience."
"Really nice accommodations, fairly close to bus stop to campus. Co-op very close by, great for last-minute food and drink, as well as a McDonalds in walking distance for late-night eats."
"If you are an international student, just avoid going to the UK. This hall will be the least of your problems. First year: All in all a great halls and wonderful staff! Second year: everything went downhill so fast. The staff literally stopped doing their jobs, with everything. For a while they stopped notifying you when you got a package. They wouldn't host scheduled hall events and then lie about it. Cleaning staff wouldn't clean common areas and hallways for MONTHS. The complete 180 from the year before was insane. The only people actually doing their jobs and being friendly was the security team."
"5-star accommodation. Cleaning service team is the best and provides their service on weekends. The receptionists are nice and helpful. Its location is very convenient. Next to the Swaythling train station, several bus stops to the University, City Centre and Portswood. My Local, Pharmacy Store are right downstairs. I am living on the 11th floor, the window view from my room and the kitchen is gorgeous. The kitchen is cleaned carefully every weekday. The cleaner even washes the ovens no matter how dirty they have been the day before. My room temperature is great. Warm in winter (sometimes I didn't have to use the radiator), chill in the summer. However, the lifts are sometimes broken which is a bit annoying. The hall is quite new so there has been some other operational problems. The monthly rental is quite expensive but it's worth the money."
