Reviews of The Queens Head Hotel & Bar
"Matt welcomed me in to the pub. Very busy pub all the staff were very polite and went above and beyond. Thank you Matt and all you staff"
"Disgusting treatment. The money was taken from my account, yet on arrival, we were informed by a very unhelpful member of staff that all rooms were uninhabitable, with no beds & that all bookings were cancelled! We'd booked the accommodation many months in advance, for Download Festival and were then left high & dry with nowhere to stay & little time to get to the Festival, of which we'd paid hundreds for. Why weren't we informed? Why was the money taken? Why hadn't the member of staff thought to inform Booking.com to save inconveniencing travellers? He told us that customers had arrived the previous night & been turned away, so why not use some common sense & have the decency to inform paying customers in good time, so they could make other arrangements? Not only was money taken, an extra £40 cost in taxis plus £12 in parking costs was incurred unnecessarily. Shameful, disgraceful people."
"Never again. I stayed here 5years ago and it was OK, basic but clean, did the job for the night. Stayed last night and OMG I think someone had died, weed or soiled on the bed. Bed was not made, mattress was up the wall and the room stank. The bending to makeup the bed seemed clean but the quilt was highly stained. I was told not to use the shower as it leaks into the kitchen. NEVER will I return."
"Stayed for three nights, Never again!!!! I travel a lot with my work so I’ve stayed in hundreds of b&bs and hotels. This is by far the worst. Shared shower rooms are awful with locks not working and barely enough space to get in and out. The rooms are situated above a night club so don’t expect any sleep. The walls are paper thin and you can hear people snoring. Bar far the worst was on the second night at 12.00 some walked into my room. They had been given the wrong room key. On the final evening this happened again they checked someone else into my room. Your personal items will not be safe. AVOID AT ALL COST!!!"
"If only it were possible to give a review lower than one! Shocking! The duvet had dried snot on it, as did the walls! And as it turns out it’s right above a night club. A fact for which we received no warning. so we decided to drive home at 2am as it was impossible to sleep with all the noise! That being said the staff were very helpful when we arrived. But I will not be staying there again."
