"I have been abused by Anchor House for over 20 years. They want you to be ill and prey on vulnerable people. They knew nothing about me and diagnosed me with Paranoid Schizophrenia. This diagnosis was absolute rubbish. I just didn’t have any support and had told them minutes felt like hours. You then get labelled and if you ever need the police they will automatically discriminate against you. I have always worked full time, more recently my physical health was suffering and went to A and E. Mental Health services sectioned me which is terrifying. You are locked up, and have no idea how long for. Also you can’t get any exercise. 9 months later I am still recovering as they made my physical health so much worse. Anchor House take your drivers license and then don’t give it back unless you agree to see them so they can be abuse you. 9 months now and I can’t work. If you reach out on social media they turn up at your house Dr Marianne Gemmeke. They demand to come in. Don’t let them. They are absolutely awful. I am fine mentally but still recovering physically. When I tell them I am fine. They tell me I am paranoid and anxious. So no licence. Now they have discharged me and there is no way of getting my license back. I would prefer not to drive than have an appointment with them. They are absolutely horrible and have completely destroyed my life. No I would not recommend. They should be shot."
"Where do I start? Incompetent, rude, and no personalised care. A urgent review is needed in the care given at this place. I won't mention staff names but there seems to be a lack of care towards the patients, with staff who love to regurgitate repetitive stockpiled responses, with no sense of direction. Shameful."
"Sometimes helpful, but if you get Dr Marianne Gemmeke tell them "NO" as she doesn't listen to people and is soo up herself and stuck up. There is no way in hell she should be working in the field of mental health, plain and simple she should be fired!!!"
"phoned up the nurse at anchor house told her that one of their patients is on day 4 of not eating is suicidal and was discharged from hospital, after an overdose. I asked them to log my call, will be phoning them every day my wife does not eat. They hung up on me and just said thank you. My wife has been under their care for over 10 years and they are not fit for purpose. A lot of people shuffling paper about all day clock watching. Unsympathetic and defiantly no care"
"A close relative of mine recently lost his life while under the care of anchor house, he was suffering from severe anxiety and was absolutely desperate to get better - he said that the female doctor who prescribed him medication told him that he would "have to get used to it" - very unwise words to a person who was, because of his state of mind, taking everything he was being told in its most negative form. She may well have told him " your not going to get better, so you will have to learn to live with it" - disgusting."
