Reviews of The Play Village Ashbourne
"My 4yo and 21mo really enjoyed our visit. It was busy but that wasn’t unpleasant. It’s very well fitted out and a really lovely space. The cafe menu is very good. We decided not to eat more than crisps and a pot of tea however as the visit would have been close to £40 in total, which is steep but fine for something that’s not regular. I do think that 2h 15 is a bit long and does make it difficult to not buy stuff from the cafe, which makes sense for them I suppose! We actually left 20 mins early because I just didn’t want to spend so much money and my elder daughter was a bit fed up and hungry. We went to the 9.30 session. My main problem for me was that some of the play areas have a low entrance, which is unnecessary (just for aesthetics). At 5”9 these are sort of forehead height making them hard to see and I bumped my head very painfully 3 times. The play leader did point this out at the beginning but it’s tricky to remember when you’re following your child out, especially at such an awkward height. And if they mention it I guess a lot of people do it… I’m surprised there’s no light foam or whatever on these because a lot of people must do it and it seriously hurts! Anyway, we will visit again but for the ££ it’ll be more of a one off than a regular, weekly thing."
"Well organised and a great place for young children to play and explore. The facilities are spotless, and all the staff are engaging and helpful. Our daughters party was perfect in every way, and the food and snacks provided were really good. Thanks to the team at the Play Village."
"My son had his 3rd birthday here today ,we all had a great time (kids and adults) Kate and her team insured we wanted for nothing the food there is all homemade and the pizzas alone are worth the visit! The place is kept spotless and there staff are beyond attentive to the children and there safety! Hats off play village Ashbourne and thank you so much!"
"This place is amazing! Our 1 and 3 year olds loved it! A great selection of role play that will keep little ones entertained for as long as you need! The food was great, they catered for a dairy intolerance so really glad we visited!"
"Amazing place, so well thought out and organised. They have thought of so much in bringing imaginary and adventurous play for children. The play leader was so funny and engaged the children in exciting scenarios. Lovely place. I liked the fact it wasn’t too busy and you had to book your session which helped with it not being so chaotic like many play centres. All the staff were helpful and kind."
