Shiplake Memorial Hall

"Kate and Peter helped us out by taking a very last minute booking and were so friendly and helpful. The hall was lovely and suited our gathering of friends down to the ground. The Bluetooth speaker system was great for music and the children LOVED the stage. The kitchen was roomy and well equipped with cutlery and crockery etc. The industrial dishwasher was also very useful. The hall don’t provide cooking equipment (tray sheets for the oven, pans for the hob, kitchen knives etc) which would probably have come to light had we booked with more than 24 hours notice (!) but we hadn’t realised. We managed to work around it but just a heads up to anyone else booking. The hall was also really clean and the toilets etc were modern and warm (not always a given with a hall!). Overall a fantastic day. Thanks again!"

"A very character full place with timbered roof to the main hall, decent size stage, modern catering quality kitchen and nice new loos. Plenty of chairs and tables. As with all halls these days more rules and regulations than might be required. The instructions for the kitchen and supplied accessories are clear, so worth reading. Plenty of parking and good disabled access. Handy for Reading and Henley, the station is about a 20 minute walk."

"Hall in itself is quite small however park outside and parking is good. Garden outside is well maintained and has small lakh area next to it for kids to be kept busy. Hired hall for purpose which served Okish. Service afterwards was questionable and won’t come back. Many better halls around reading area and at a better price as well."

"A grand facility providing the local community with space for indoor activities, a children’s nursery and the ground for outdoor activities. The parking facility is a bit restricted and may get overcrowded during the peak hours. However, a very well looked after premises and the grounds."

"I attended a wedding reception here. It was an excellent venue in a nice location. The kids play park was handy for entertaining the kids between the meal and the dancing."
