"Downstairs service really bad. I was served my food 35 minutes before rest of my group of 7. I had fish chips and peas. It was tiny piece of fish and whole meal was disgusting. Fish eas one of 4 pack you would buy in supermarkets. Stay away."

"Amazing place especially on Fridays when its half price. I can get six pints and good quality meal and pudding for just below £ 20. Food is top notch."

"Been here recently: excellent refurb by the new owners/management. Food was on point and the drinks were reasonably priced. Large TV for sports and even a pool table. I will be visiting again."

"Been here before, decent beer and a selection of decent top shelf spirits. Very quick to prioritise serving customers behind the bar. However, Sports Bar it isn't! Installation of a numerous lcd tv's but no amplifiers. Went to the Sportsman to watch Joshua vs Klitschko. Great atmosphere but couldn't hear the sound. After five requests to overwhelmed bar staff. Tv's were discovered to be already turned up to maximum. Bit of a joke really. There was a really good turnout for the boxing. A great deal of friends and family and for a packed out event with noisy punters, the tv sound just isn't good enough. This issue needs addressing asap if we are to return. Owners can be funny as in you're not welcome. Message to them: treat people how you want to be treated and look after your clients."

"Really annoyed last night the owner told me it was shut when it obviously wasn't, was very rude, yes I came late but I was in there earlier at 9pm when I booked the hotel there I watched a few fights then had to go to a birthday party at the White swan me and my family are the sportmans best customers we've been to every fight there, I even had my birthday celebration here and took 50 people there who'd never been there before, each one has been back since I've spent over a thousand pound behind the bar for the owner to tell me it's shut even before the Khan vs canelo fight had even got anywhere near to starting, not only that I even bought a room at the hotel that day just for the fight but he wouldn't let me watch it told me it was shut when there was people upstairs and downstairs watching the fights so ended up being a waste of money getting the hotel and to top it off I watched 10 different people turn up up to an hour after he told me it was shut and he let them all in they all walked past me when I was having a cigarette outside the hotel. The owner is even friends with my brother and his girlfriend, so don't even understand why he wouldn't let me in."
