"What a beautiful meal. The bowls club I play for have now held their pre Christmas get together here for a few years. This place is great for a 3 course meal or a piece of cake and a latte. As the name LAKESIDE suggests it's situated by a small lake and is a beautiful place to sit and pass an hour while you nibble away and sip a refreshing drink. They do have alcoholic beverages as well as usual soft drink options, tea, coffee hot chocolate etc. It has a large car park and several disabled parking spaces right next to the bistro/ cafe. Inside has seating for around 40 people and outside a similar number some under cover. Highly recommend this place to everyone..... Beautiful.!!"
"Wonderful food, marvelous selection, friendly and very helpful staff. Set in the most beautiful location. Can't recommend highly enough, it's superb"
"Bit disappointed overall starter's where great but mostly deep fried at least the ones I choose but between the server not knowing the food or drink menu at all (she did say she was new ) when ordering and the driest inedible belly pork I've ever had and un cooked bubble and squeak really let the place down .And I at 37 was the probably one of the youngest guest in the room any poor dear wouldn't get their teeth into this dish or if they did they would never get them out again"
"Beautiful Lakeside location with tea rooms and ouside patio and deck serving tea, coffee, beers, wine, cakes, sandwiches and baguettes. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Having not tried any of the homemade cakes, I can only comment of the imagineless plate I ordered off the hot sandwiches part if the menu - the fried fish goujon. I was not particularly impressed with the standard. Thr accompanying chips felt, tasted and looked shop bought re'heated in an oven. Lonely green leaves, peper and tomatoes doused in balsamic vinegar made a sad version of salad. Personally, more imagination and creative cooking techniques could be achieved quite easily at the Lakeside Bistro for presentation and quality of their food."
