About the Business
Welcome to The Forage - a delightful cafe, restaurant, and store located in the heart of Lyndhurst, one of the most picturesque towns in the United Kingdom. Nestled at 39 High St, our establishment provides a haven for foodies, nature lovers, and curious tourists alike.
At The Forage, we are passionate about food and drink. We believe that the best ingredients come from the land and sea, and we source our produce from local farmers, fishermen, and bakers. Our menu reflects the changing seasons, with hearty soups, delicious sandwiches, and warming casseroles in winter, and refreshing salads, light bites, and fruity smoothies in summer.
But we are more than just a cafe and restaurant. We are also a point of interest, a hub of activity, and a store worth exploring. Our friendly staff will be happy to help you choose from our range of artisanal cheeses, organic honeys, homemade jams, and freshly baked breads. We also stock a variety of unique gifts, from locally made ceramics to handcrafted candles.
The Forage is a place where you can sit and watch the world go by, surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the New Forest National Park. Whether you are a hiker, cyclist, or simply a lover of the great outdoors, we offer a warm welcome and a relaxed atmosphere. We are open daily from 9 am to 5 pm (with extended hours in the summer), so pop in for a coffee, a snack, or a full meal - we promise you won't be disappointed!

"Fabulous cafe/diner/restaurant in the middle of Lyndhurst High Street. Attentive and friendly staff, lovely food in Nice surroundings, inside and outside seating. I had a large Eggs Benedict brunch and my partner had the Spanish Omelette which we both enjoyed, but we will be back for their amazing looking pizzas which most people who ordered around us could not fih and were given a takeaway box. The garlic breads were pretty large too. A wonderful establishment and well worth a visit as not expensive either."
"Beautiful spot on the high street with an amazing back garden for dining in the sunshine (when it appears). The food was incredible, with my Eggs Blackstone (bacon instead of ham) ordered with extras of halloumi and avocado coming out well presented and tasting delicious! The amount of food was also exceptional, with my entire party coming away stuffed! Also, try the coffee, it's out of this world!"
"Popped in for a quick lunch. Was buzzing with people but we were seated very quickly. The staff are friendly and attentive. Some great choices on the menu. The food quality was to a very reasonable standard, and came out very quickly considering the amount of people. Nice feel to the place. Clean and tidy. Would definitely eat here again."
"Wow what a find as we were just passing. The food was amazing, highly recommend the Chicken Alfredo & garlic bread.... delicious & a really good size portion, enough to take some home. Added bonus is they're dog friendly! We'll be back sometime."
"We had breakfast here on a Sunday morning. It has good reviews and was busy but they don't take bookings. We were fortunate to get a table, but despite being full, the service was excellent and quick. It is table service and they took drinks orders first. The coffees and teas were fine but we were really impressed by the food. All six of us thought the quality was great and good sized portions. Price and presentation were good. Dog friendly and one of the main car parks is just across the road, you'll have to pay for parking in Lyndhurst. Very central location to see the rest of the town."
