"A pheasant hit my drivers door mirror smashing it and damaged the drivers door window. I’m with LV insurance, due to the cost of the replacement door mirror and window I decided to claim on the insurance. By law, you can only drive a car with two usable mirrors from the choice of the rear view, passenger door and drivers door mirrors, however one MUST BE THE DRIVERS DOOR MIRROR. As mine was smashed to bits, I knew I wasn’t allowed to drive it legally. Sara from Nationwide called after LV had contacted them, Sara wanted to arrange the collection of my car that they were then going to DRIVE the 40 miles back to Norwich from my home. I explained this isn't possible due to the drivers door mirror being in a thousand pieces and legally the car can not be driven, it will need to be collected on a lorry “Don’t worry, we have driven far worse than that” she said !! This immediately put me on notice that I should not entrust my few month old £70,000 car with them! Cowboys sprung to mind, why would I let someone I don’t know drive 40 miles in my new car which officially shouldn’t be driven on the road, who clearly has the attitude of, don’t worry about it!! I’m sure if the Nationwide employee had had an accident in my car whilst driving it illegally, they and LV would have put it all right and the police would have turned a blind eye? No of course not. Nationwide, your overall Google and Glassdoor employees reviews say it all. TERRIBLE!! I for one will be going elsewhere from LV when the car insurance is due for renewal. I was going to have to pay an extra £250 to get the car repaired at a place of my own choice, which was a Mercedes dealership I have dealt with for years and purchased my car from, work they were capable of doing in their workshop. I know and trust them. LV wavered the extra £250 policy excess due to the experience and wayward attitude from Nationwide. Moral of the experience of LV and Nationwide , take your insurance elsewhere because LV only partner with Nationwide repair centres. The nearest one to me from the Bury St Edmunds area is Norwich!! We only learn how good insurance companies are when we make a claim, in this instance, both failed miserably. I made numerous phone calls to LV during the experience and had to push them to get communicating with the garage to authorise the repair, they suggested because it was then being done by my own choice of repairers, they can take up to five days to authorise it!! Not acceptable, this wasn’t a big repair. LV also told me because the car was being repaired through my own choice of repairers, I was then not due to have a loan hire car! The repairing garage very kindly loaned me a car for three days but needed it back, I had to then plead to LV to keep to the terms of my policy and sort out a hire car, which they then did and Enterprise in Ipswich sorted out a car for me. The only good experience out of this was from Enterprise in Ipswich. LV told me they will be passing the unprofessional comments back to Nationwide Car Repairs as to why they didn’t get my car to repair, and I suggested they and or LV contact me for a discussion about it. Still no calls or anything from LV or Nationwide. They couldn’t care less attitude was apparent from start to finish."

"Updated regularly but took 5 weeks and the repairs aren't good at all. Bolts n nuts left on front where the window wipers are. All parts replaced aren't equally placed uneven gaps..quality of job is poor .. Scratches to new parts or refuted parts unsure... Car clean on return but very disappointed"

"Never had any problems with the Whiffler Road site, outstanding service and repair work. Fifers lane site not highly recommended! Had my car in over a month, New door / front wing and bonnet. Said they have called me to discuss things but never had one call. Fault with electronics on wing mirrors, door glass catching on rubber when opening the door and when on arrival the car would not start due to a flat battery ? Battery only 7 months old. Would not recommend to anyone and would always request work to be carried out at the Whiffler Road site from now on."

"I recently had an accident in my new car. The drivers side wing and mirror were wrecked. My insurance company arranged for Nationwide in Norwich to call me, which they did and they picked the car up from my house the next day. I then stayed in touch with Sara Davey via email as i had trouble answering the phone due to work and also having anxiety, it's hard to talk to people sometimes. But Sara has been brilliant and has kept me informed via email and text. When i went to pick my car up about a week later, my partner noticed that the trim wasn't fitted properly and that there were still visible scratch marks on the alloys. I mentioned this to Sara in the email and asked if it could be fixed and she said they would sort that out for me, which they did. I am so pleased with the help and follow ups that Sara has done for me. Like i said talking can be a big issue for me and i always prefer email. So it made me a lot more relaxed. Thanks so much :)"

"Recently had my Alfa repaired here. They picked up my car from my house whilst delivering the loan car ; a new smart car. They did a great job and it looks as good as new and I had the car back within a week."
