As well as providing a platform for the performing arts, the Moat Theatre has been a cornerstone of community engagement, offering a range of classes and workshops for all ages. From drama and dance to creative writing and visual arts, our classes give members of the community the opportunity to develop their creativity and skills in a welcoming and supportive environment.

We are passionate about supporting emerging talent, and have a long history of nurturing young artists at the start of their careers. Our annual summer festival, the Moat Theatre Festival of Drama, is a highlight of the calendar, and has been instrumental in launching the careers of many aspiring actors, writers, and directors.
