Reviews of Kinlay House
"Excellent location, right in the middle of everything. This beautiful old building was a 'home for working boys' back in the Victorian age. Teens who were on their own working in Dublin could stay here for a safe place to live. If you need anything, the store across the street probably has it. The hostel is no -frills, but very clean and has everything you need, and the staff were great. You can park your food in the fridge, use the kitchen to cook, and eat in the dining area downstairs where they also serve free breakfast in the morning. For a hostel, it was quiet, except for the fire doors, which slam every time someone goes in or out of their room. I was there with my teen so we had a private room upstairs but heard a lot of doors, which is not great if you are a light sleeper, FYI. Would definitely go back, though."
"Pretty average Hostel. Staff is very helpful but not always the happiest/most welcoming people. They do have a kitchen, free breakfast, and laundry options, which is a huge plus in my opinion. Not bad overall, but definitely not worth it for the $50/night they charged me to stay here in the middle of winter in a basic shared room."
"Lovely and welcoming staff. What you’d expect for a hotel really. I paid for a private room and it was actually surprisingly better than what I thought. The only small issue is the outdated furniture- but again it’s a hostel so can’t complain too much! Happy for what I paid for."
