Reviews
"Great place to work, a man called Lewis (team leader) helped me through 6 months I was their, he understands the employee and moved mountains to see me fit in,"
"Driver dropped a pallet in the middle of the driveway at Quarry Farm, was abusive to to the staff and then drove off endangering the animals and staff members. Blocked the entrance to both visitors and any required emergency vehicles that may have been needed. Totally unprofessional, drivers language appalling, bullying an old lady. Do not use this company."
"Received delivery today we live on a farm with super access, the driver reversed up the drive and then refused to go any further and shouted that he "had a new lorry and would only deliver roadside". The delivery was dumped in the middle of our drive blocking access to all the properties on the farm. He was very rude to my staff and myself. The way the load was dumped has damaged a number of items and we had to move the delivery by-hand whereas it would have been easier if he used the trolley to move it onto the yard."
"Terrible company. Their approach is entirely devoid of common sense. A full time working household will not be available at short notice and only on one specific day in a given week. They refuse to listen to dates given well in advance and are only concerned if its convenient for them. Barker and Stonehouse need to change company ASAP."
"We ordered our sofas in December and 30 weeks later they have not arrived. They were due for delivery after 12 weeks and had they been delivered on time they would have arrived 2 weeks prior to lockdown. Barker and Stonehouse are now asking for us to pay the remaining balance without even having a delivery date arranged. The delivery company Transvalair are difficult to work with and do not appear to deliver to Leicester very often. They offered us one date this week for delivery at short notice however, being key workers, we were unable to be available for this date. They have not been helpful in securing a new date. On top of this Trasvalair were planning to deliver the sofas to our garden, when asked how they could guarantee that the leather sofas would not be damaged by sitting outside in the unpredictable British weather they did not seem keen to address this issue. In comparison I have a friend that ordered their sofas from DFS and has had no issue arranging delivery since the lockdown has lifted, including delivery into their house, which took place socially distanced. Essentially the customer service from both B&S and Transvalair has been pretty much non-existent. I would not recommend any purchase from Barker and Stonehouse that requires delivery and I would avoid companies that use Transvalair also."
