"Visited the great house for cakes. The cake they served was the end off the cake. Both me and my friend ordered the same cake. We were both served the end pieces off cake which were dry. Ususally with slice cake you are served fresh slices off cake Dissapointed very"

"Absolutely AMAZING service! Had my sisters baby shower here last minute after another venue fell through, afternoon catered for 8 of us, in a private room at the back of the restaurant which was the perfect size for us, especially as we were quite loud at times! Very attentive and polite, gladly the room was not booked for anything else that day so we had it to ourselves for 3 hours, and another hour before to decorate. Food was lovely and the building itself is gorgeous, perfect for intimate weddings and events. Thank you!!"

"Yesterday, six of us had afternoon tea and we were very disappointed. £22.95 each. Not many sandwiches. Scones were hard and cold. Sausage rolls were cold and appeared shop bought. A few other items which none of us really liked. Sorry, won't be coming back"

"Unfortunately, on this occasion, an average review. Positive: the Restaurant, wow, what can I say, excellent fresh food, excellent service, and to top it off, a set menu, 3 course for £18!! Now the Negative, when you click on the website, you see, a funky double room, nice wallpaper, nice bedding, unfortunately for me, as I found out at check out, this is a refurbished room. I was given an un-refurbished one, tired, out dated, TV, no remote, iron not working, sockets not working, shower tap not working, the double bed was in the wrong way, so the longer side was under the headboard? And me feet stuck out the bottom by a foot at least? So if you do book at this hotel, ring up and ask for a refurbished room.... And enjoy the food, it's lovely...."
