Reviews of National Trust - Dinefwr
"What a fantastic house and park land . Walk to the castle ruins was well worth it as views are just stunning , the best I've seen from a castle . Nice cafe on site , friendly staff . House has deep history very interesting. We were lucky there was a dog show on the day we visited which was fun to watch."
"National Trust property and grounds with a Cadw castle accessed through the grounds Interesting house with different exhibitions in various rooms including restoration room with wallpapers, moulds, woodwork and paints and the paintings of the castle, grounds and house. The service areas were well set out so we could see life below stairs. The deer park was closed due to the extreme heat but they wandered up to near the gardens under the tree line so we didn't have to miss out. The coffee was good in the cafe along with a good scone. Plenty of places to picnic ."
"Great location We sat outside for a cuppa & sandwich which was very nice. The house was ok, but only 3 floors to explore - more information would have been better about these rooms. The deer were even out at the rear to see. Credit to the person on the gate on Saturday 06/08 as she was full of excitement and friendly. The castle is a short walk away through the fields and woods, but is steep and not the easiest for some people. But well worth the walk as the view from the castle across the valley is fabulous."
"This entire area is gorgeous. The woman who greeted us at the parking station was wonderful and gave us great information. It is 5 pounds of you aren’t a member of the National trust or other orgs but that amount can be used as credit for the Newton House. We parked and walked to the castle then had a cup of coffee at the Newton House. There are so many wonderful walks and things to do here and the views are just stunning. Definitely worth your time."
