"Recently we attended the venue as a contractor booked by a client using this location. Now I don't get to go out on jobs much these days anymore but due to a staff sickness I stepped in to cover & what a pleasant day indeed Now you can tell much by how establishments treat contractors as some in truth can make you feel very unwelcome - especially when the venue themselves didnt book you etc. Well if how these ladies treated us is anything to go by the guests are very lucky indeed who attend this location. Upon arrival the manager & her colleague were incredibly welcoming and throughout the day came to check we were OK & if we needed anything & were just generally very friendly pleasant people which is fantastic. The only dissapointment is that this venue isn't one that normally holds events of this nature as we would really enjoy working with these guys regularly :) Best wishes Lee Managing Director Fun Times Bouncy Castles & Entertainments"
"FSC Margam is a wonderful place for geography fieldwork experiences. The accommodation is clean and comfortable, and the food is lovely."
"Firstly, shame about the other review that claims the centre is not for people from the area. It's for who ever wants to go there! School and university groups pay to go, it's not a not done for free. Maybe local schools prefer to go further afield so maybe that explains that slightly ignorant, negative review. Common sense really! And regarding litter picking: why not get kids doing it, the point is surely that it will help them to understand why littering is bad. Anyway, I have stayed here are a member of staff with a University group. The facilities were excellent for us. We conducted an introductory weekend including small mammals trapping (catch and release); large mammal studies with the dear; navigation; fieldcraft and invertebrate collecting. I would recommend the centre of these activities. We had no complaints from the students who enjoyed the experience and the staff were great too. I would recommend."
"We had a fantastic visit - three days packed full of kid focused nature adventure with the children (and the few other families). The food was all provided and really good. The rooms were basic but clean and warm. The staff were amazing. It was freezing cold outside but that's Wales for you."
"My review is coming from someone who stayed here on a school trip. Starting off with the positives, the view is nice with good walks and deer roaming around the grounds almost under your nose. However i found that there were quite a lot of problems. Starting off with the rooms, i found that getting into your corridor and then to your room was fine with the keys, but as you're sharing the room with three other people it was a hassle to find the person carrying your key around the centre. I found i was stuck outside my corridor more than once having to wait for someone to let me in or go and find someone with a master key. The bedrooms were good but the toilets were a let down. There was no toilet brush so you couldn't clean the toilet properly which was disgusting. There was also a slight problem with the taps, either they couldn't change temperature as they were broken or they stayed on for too long (considering it is an eco-centre).Inexplicably, the common room was lacking most noticeably having NO cutlery at all or a microwave to heat anything up! Shame the views from the rooms all point towards a nasty industrial plant. Thanks everybody for my stay i did have fun! I just hope this review can make future stay easier and more fun for people after me. Thanks Heather, Alison and Cameron."
