"This was our second visit to this hotel. Since our last stay the hotel has been renovated, now looking welcoming and fresh. We had a sea view room 219. It’s a delightful room. This hotel is pet friendly and its location perfect. The staff are very helpful especially the maitre d’ Rose who does a super job with a dedication and a pleasant and efficient manner. The manager is nice and friendly too. We loved every minute of our stay."
"Great seafront location, excellent wedding facility with good ground floor public lounge & bar areas. Bedrooms adequate but dated style need refurb upgrading to modern day facilities. No private parking, OK in winter when plenty free spaces on seafront but in summer big problem. Value OK."
"We stayed for the weekend at this hotel. Our room 112 was wonderful, it was very large, beautifully decorated, large and comfortable bed, huge window with a beautiful sea view, separate shower room and bathroom with a wonderful bathtub. The dinner at the hotel was good. Breakfast fantastic for English breakfast lovers and there was also a cold buffet with a fantastic food selection. The staff were very nice and helpful. The bar manager recommended a non-alcoholic beer to me and I was delighted. The hotel had a beautiful lounge and several other lounges where you could sit and talk. Clean, spacious, renovated, very nice hotel to which we will probably return."
"Go somewhere else. For background, I stayed here about 2 weeks ago (October 2022). Location: very nice; it was easy to just have a quick walk around the beach and the view of the sea was good. Room: not bad, but could've been better: the bedsheets were definitely not any kind of natural fibre (I'd assume a polyester mix); the bath was quite narrow so it was difficult to shower properly; the sink was clean but dated and had two individual taps for hot and cold water, which I know is typical of old British buildings, but I would definitely expect a mixer tap at a price like this; and strangly enough, the door knobs turned the opposite way than usual?? I think the rooms definitely look better in the photos than reality, but all of the things above are minor inconveniences anyway. One thing I really could not tolerate was the horrible dated smell some parts of the corridor gave off which reminded me of a hospice or something - really not something I want to be reminded of on holiday. Service: I think the service we received would have been better if we'd stayed at a time where the hotel wasn't completely overbooked with (what I assumed to be) a wedding party. We'd just stayed for one night and wanted to get some quick breakfast before heading off again - which seemed to be quite difficult for them to handle because they were massively understaffed and disorganised. There was also a lack of tables for some reason (surely you'd have enough tables to seat every room in your hotel, but ok) so we had to sit in the lounge which was a good 20m or so away from the breakfast buffet. Also a really poor variety in foods that weren't traditional English breakfast foods / high in sugar or fat. Not even any cornflakes or anything if I remember correctly. TLDR / conclusion: generally adequate but I would recommend going somewhere else unless you love old buildings or something. The View hotel a bit further along the road looked quite nice, so the next time we stay in Eastbourne we'll probably see what that's like."
"Super spot on front Lovely comfortable lounges and most rooms we have used are similar. Duvets are a bit lumpy but beds generally good with the sea facing rooms having a great outlook. Bar food good and typical prices. Nice modern dining room."
