"Delicious dinner and great service. This is a real hidden gem and visited after being recommended. Being gluten free was no issue and our waitress was so helpful and ensured everything was adapted for me. Lovely setting, delicious food."
"Had a Sunday roast here today and the food was absolutely phenomenal. The service however, appalling, our waitress was extremely rude and impatient with us. It’s been a little while since I had seen my parents so we had a lot to catch up on, the waitress came over mid conversation and asked us if we were ready to order, we simply told her we weren’t ready to order and could we please have a little more time. The young lady then immediately took umbrage to this and proceeded to interrupt my partner and dad’s conversation to ask the same question, when they didn’t answer she rudely said “or ignore me then”. We were speechless, clearly this young lady didn’t like her job very much to speak to customers in such a rude and confrontational way. This then affected her whole attitude from that point onwards towards us, she was rude, very dismissive and when she bought the dessert menu over after eventually clearing our mains she said “you’ve got 30 minutes” before basically throwing the menus at us!!! Absolutely terrible service, in fact, I’d go as far to say it’s the WORST I have ever experienced which is a shame because it’s no reflection of the chef’s standard of food or other members of bar staff. £146 to be treated like that, absolute shambles you seriously need to think about the people you’re hiring and their attitudes."
"Impeccably presented culinary masterpieces served in a pleasant restaurant with polished wooden tables and floor. It appears that the evening menu changes monthly. Ours included pigeon breast, lamb rump, ox cheeks, monkfish and steak burger. The vegetarian option was charred Romanesco. I would recommend the restaurant for a celebration - the menu and food is special. It is pricier than your average fayre, but the experience is way above average! Expect to pay £30 - £50 for two courses, £10 for a dessert. A good choice of wine by the glass or bottle. Very clean throughout, all tables backed by clear Covid-screens which were present but not imposing. Attentive table service with bell (although never had need to use it). Well stocked bar and wonderful wine. Very pleasant staff. Village is located in lovely rolling countryside not far from Holdenby (house) and Brixworth (Anglo Saxon church), easy to get to from both Northampton and the A14. Car park at rear. Can't wait to return !"
"Absolutely amazing. The food is great here. Not the cheapest but very high quality. So tasty and worth the money. One of the nicest restaurants in the area. It has atmosphere and the staff are really friendly. Overall the food is superb and I recommend, we will definitely visit again"
"What an amazing experience at the Kings l had with friends. The food did not disappoint- succulent scallops, juicy fillet steak, amazing desserts. Only downside is that if you have an allergy or intolerance its not clearly written on any dish ( gluten, dairy, nuts etc). I had to ask for a dish if it contained dairy but besides that it was amazing. Remember to bring lots of wonga!!£££ worth it"
