"I took this course last month and really enjoyed it but I thought I would share an honest review for others considering. When I first booked this course, I booked on the main website that had a special stating 50% off the course price of £2998. I did paid my deposit and they were lovely enough to give me a small discount but the overall price I paid was £1700, which obviously isn't 50% of £2998. The payment process is also a bit weird where you just get a link and are told to pay, but there isn't anything about balance remaining or receipted invoice etc. The first week of the course is theory - going over everything from hygiene and safety to just chatting with the instructors about situations and experience. I don't think the course is long enough, but it's enough time to get through quite a bit and learn the basics of being a safe tattoo artist. If you do your research before hand you will realise that you can't get your operating license from them (UK has licenses for premises, not individuals) so even with your H&S certificate, you would still need to join an established studio or open your own / sign up with your local council. They will go over this in the course. The classroom/workspace is adequate and clean. Instructors are pretty friendly and informative. I personally felt like there were too many breaks and times when we didn't have much to do. We were given drawing assignments that didn't lead to anything, so I'd prefer if the theory was about half a week and you start practising by the end of the first week. The second week of the course is practical, where you will go over the whole practise of setting up to actually tattooing. By the end of the last week, you will tattoo on an actual model (we just tattooed friends or eachother). The actual day for tattooing is hectic, so I suggest being prepared. I think it would be hard to fail but you still want to take your time so that you get it right. Some of the areas that could be improved: - The colours that we practised with were not all available for the day of tattooing our model. I had practised with one specific colour and then the day before was told we could only use a different box of limited colour. - Website could adjust figures for discounts appropriately - Less chat and more learning material and assignments for first week - We were promised tattoo machines for a date change with our class. These took 3 weeks to get and were cheap £60 kits from Amazon - which we were told specifically, several times, not to buy by our instructors. We also had to chase several times and sent emails but had no reply. Communication could really be improved. All in all, great little course to get you started and people are nice. I'd definitely not pay £3k for this but I'd recommend since they start you off in the right place for doing safe tattoos."
