Reviews of Travelodge Alfreton
"Very friendly staff who bent over backwards to help with our luggage. Every night was comfortable and relaxed. Hot water and great bathrooms with plenty of soaps and fresh towels . We thoroughly enjoyed our chilled out nights watching television and comfortable bed and chairs ."
"I'll preface this by saying that we stayed here as temporary accommodation whilst waiting for our council flat to be ready. We do not have a car so rely on public transport, which is reflected in some of the comments. Staff were very lovely and helpful throughout our stay, we cannot thank them enough! They all made an unpleasant situation a lot more bearable which helped reduce a lot of the stress of our living situation. Pro's The accessible room we had met my needs very well, the bed was comfortable and the height is wheelchair level. The bathroom had a good amount of grab rails and a low bath that gave me a few options to access it.* *Beldray stool in pictures is our own. The red cords in the room all reach the floor so that they could be accessed if I had a fall. One was tied up, however its location means it potentially could be pulled accidentally whilst transferring in and out of the bath. Staff are happy to help though so if we had needed it, there wouldn't have been a problem with it being untied. Free car park, drop curb access isn't blocked due to cones in place for delivery access. Burger King and Subway on site. Staff are knowledgeable about the local area and the amenities. Pet friendly. Cons The car park is absolutely full of potholes. We had quite a few incidents where I nearly tipped out of my wheelchair. Often quite dangerous at times too. The pedestrian access isn't great. There are a few short cuts to access the buildings however none of these are step free, therefore anyone using aids like wheelchairs will need to exit via the road. The lights on the road entrance work intermittently, it looks like a sensor however this is no good for pedestrians and it makes navigating the potholes and drains difficult and potentially dangerous in the dark. The Greggs and Sainsburys are no longer open however there is a Tesco Extra within reasonable walking distance. The nearest bus stop is not wheelchair accessible. We personally had no issues with the soundproofing given its proximity to the A38, however you may want to bring ear plugs if you are easily awoken by traffic noise."
"The staff were very friendly and helpful. The building isn't in a destination location and the building is starting to get a little tired. Having said that, it was fine for what we were looking for, it was good value and we would use this hotel again."
"Great location for exploring the area. Rooms are a little tired with limited sockets none by the bed and no USB ports but it was clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again. Handy Greggs and Burger King on site + 24hour garage."
"Good luck if you're staying on a lower floor. You can hear every single foot step above you, which is fantastic if they wake up at 6.30am and trott about. I requested we move to a top floor room, because our Dog was barking at all the noise, the creaking, the banging, from the paper thin roofs and walls - but that wasn't possible. I wouldn't ever come back, despite its location close to the Peak District."
