TK Maxx 28 Royal Parade, Plymouth PL1 1SA

"Went yesterday (18/02/23) in my local TK maxx Plymouth to collect my order as I always do for years. The employee at the check out ( ginger hair, in her 50s) asked for my ID - that is usual. She took my ID of my hands up to her nose and obviously saw country of my origin. Very well known in recent news. She brought my order and asked to sign in there - whatever it called machine. Then she asked me to print my name wow never I had been asked to print my name I told her by any other staff of tk maxx and no one of them ever took my ID up to their nose. Is it for every customer to print their full name or just for some who wasn’t born in the uk like if people have choice to choose where to be born or you have personal issues regarding some particular countries? I can assure you that we emphasise the importance of friendly, helpful and polite service at TK Maxx and Homesense, and we want our customers to have a positive shopping experience every time they visit. I’ve passed on your complaint to the store's manager. This issue will now be raised directly with the store's team and where necessary further training will be given so this is not repeated in the future. I can confirm that the only reason why associate did take a closer look at your ID is because associate's eyesight is not the best. As for the signature, we do sometimes ask customers to print their name if the signature was not legible. Thanks once again for bringing your experience to our attention, as it's by listening to our customers' comments and concerns that we can monitor and continue to improve the service we offer. Your reply is not acceptable as the employee in question doesn’t have issues with her eyesight. Tell this bs to someone else. Your other employee who has issue with their eyesight never take my ID off my hands. Oh now my signature was not legible? Excuse me? Absolutely rubbish. This was pure discrimination and if this will happen at any point in the future I will share my experience with Plymouth live."

"Compared to other TK Maxx stores the range of products is a little poor and the store just feels a little more haphazard in the homewares areas than most. The clothing area is better and to be fair better laid out than some so pluses and minuses. My biggest issue with almost every TK Maxx store is that certain items are ONLY available in the queue for the checkout - I get having some impulse buys there but this should be duplicates not the only place to find them, trying to dodge around people waiting just to see if what you want is actually there OR waiting in the queue and then finding it isn't - neither is great."

"Excellent Store most of the items on show are of the highest quality you will find anywhere and I will surely be going back especially now they have started a points system. I would definitely recommend to friends and family."
