Connells Estate Agents St Budeaux

"Would leave 0 star if possible. Had a viewing booked on a property that was arranged on an open house day. I specifically asked if a Saturday appointment was available to be told "no this was not an option as the vendor worked nights". The open house was a long wait however I waited and arranged the appointment around my work commitments. On the day of the viewing I received a text message to advise the viewing was cancelled - no explanation or apology just that it had been cancelled. I called the office to ask why and was told the vendor had accepted an offer! I asked how was this possible and not given an answer. I have asked for a manager to call me to discuss this. Eventually the manager did call me after additional calls being made. I was advised an offer was accepted at an open house on the Saturday! At no point was I advised that offers could be submitted or that the vendor had other viewings booked. I literally received a reminder message the day before about my viewing. I really wanted to view the property, I held out on other viewings, accommodated the vendor in waiting for the open day and arranged my day around the viewing. Communication from Connells has been poor - this vital information should have been disclosed that offers could be submitted. Also a phone call would have been more courteous as opposed to a text message containing no reason, explanation or apology. The manager at no point apologised and instead insisted that I was wrong in my information (basically lying). I wrote this review on the day of the incident 28.02.2023 only to find it has been removed so here it is again. What is the point in a review process if it can be removed just because the business does not like a negative review. Had the agents been honest and had the decency to contact me there would be no issue. I was prepared to go over the asking the price as the property seemed to suit my family's needs. I would never use Connells at St Budeaux nor would I recommend."

"I'd strongly advise against dealing with Connells. We had an offer accepted on a house on the basis that we use their in house mortgage services, and when we afterwards stated that we don't wish to use their mortgage services Tyler then told us the vendor has accepted another offer. I have reason to strongly believe this is a lie. He was very insistent on trying to pressure us to use the in house service as they would receive £698 from us, as well as commission from the mortgage lender. Absolutely awful service and will lie through their teeth to get what they want from you."
