Hearts Together

"We were in Hearts Together for many weeks as our baby was in Derriford Hospital and I can't recommend this hotel enough. Every single day the staff said hello, kept everything squeaky clean and the facilities are fantastic. Liz especially made us feel so warmly welcomed and would ask after our little boy when she saw us in the corridor. The ground as well are extremely pleasant with shrubs, lawn, wild deer visiting nearly everyday and looks out over the nearby reserve. Parking was never an issue. 100% recommend Hearts Together and to those being housed here through a charity, don't worry you will be so comfortable and looked after, we always had a better night's sleep even on the worst days. "What a wonderful little gem of a place. Husband rushed into Derriford hospital from Treliske Hospital for open heart surgery & i was told about the Hearts Together Hotel from the wonderful heart team nurses on Coronary Care ward at Treliske hospital This 'zen' hotel is set in beautiful countryside (only a few mins walk from Derriford Hospital). I stayed in a 'snug' room for one, for 2 weeks over Christmas & New Year. My room consisted of single bed, small en-suite shower & loo, hairdryer & tv with Netflix. I arrived on 21st December and immediately felt the love & kindness here. The staff showed me to my room & i was immediately offered a lift to Derriford hospital in the courtesy shuttle bus to visit my husband who'd been 'blue lighted 24 hours earlier' At an extremely worrying time, Heats Together Hotel became my sanctuary. The staff are experienced and kind making me truly feel blessed. The hotel & grounds are extremely well looked after. The room & corridors were spotless. The breakfast selection consisted of croissants, choc au pain, cereals, porridge, bread/toast with a selection of jams, fruit juices, tea & coffee making facilities. There are guest fridges & guest freezers so you can get supplies in for the long haul, also microwaves. Basically everything you might want to heat or make your own meal. The kitchens are immaculate, with the guests cleaning up after themselves using dishwashers or sink. All in all the hotel is wonderful. The staff are kind & caring, there are counsellors available should you need an ear to bend. The guests each have their own reason for being at the hotel. Some for treatment, others visiting patients but there is a real sense of community and a serene feeling away from the trauma where you can relax & recharge before your next visit to the hospital. "A really amazing place for families and friends of hospital patients to stay. Rooms are comfortable and roomy, and the kitchen/lounge area is so well equipped with everything you might need for a short stay as well as fridges/freezers available for longer stays. Friendly helpful staff as well as being close to a local nature reserve for walking (although rather hilly!)."
