"Reserved a location 13 months in advance. 9 months before the vacation, we had a medical issue that required us to cancel the trip. The Thinking Traveler refused to refund the deposit even with 9 months of notice. Apparently there is no cancellation policy at all. Buyer beware. Other Villa rental companies are much more reasonable."

"Gorgeous villa in paxos. Don’t use their chefs! They really don’t provide very good food, some of it was even cold when it came. They also have a very obscure charging process - we were charged for food we didn’t even eat (four packets of Corfu nuts lol). Then they take money and say you haven’t paid it and try to charge you more! This company seem unable to even quantify what is owed by who for what. The villas are gorgeous but the extra services are dodgy!! Still waiting two weeks after our holiday for a refund for boat hire that was cancelled due to adverse weather, they are still refusing to refund the money! So much so I’m going to take them to the small claims court. Be careful, book their villas but stay away from their extra services!"

"Having booked the villa Al Plemmirio through the Thinking Traveller, we arrived to find that the villa doesn't come close to the brochure or their App. They pitch themselves as top end luxury holiday provider so we arrive this afternoon to our villa . Within an hour the electricity has blown 11 times. Ineffectual local agents directed me to troubleshoot the villa electrics. Instructing me run up & down to the gate, to turn down the aircon, switch off the aircon , to close doors & windows & indeed switch off the pool. The house is supposed to be rustic but we are certainly in the realm it bring a serious health & safety concern. I would interpret this level of "rustic" as poorly maintained, unsanitary & dangerous. Shabby but not shabby chic. Saturday night at 19:00 and we are stuck. A rep is coming but I doubt they are an electrician. The WiFi is a dodgy 3g sim modem. The showers and roof are mouldy and visibly unhygienic. I'm afraid to plug anything in let alone use the cooker. From our experience so far we could not recommend this company and their so called luxury villas and alleged high end service. We are being handled very unprofessionally & treated as if we have rented a low grade Costa del Sol apartment. As one can see the brochure is far removed from the reality of this villa."

"Zu Nillu Favignana People might love shabby chic but this is not the case. It’s just an old house which needs substantial improvements. And life is not as comfortable as one would expect for the fee they ask for. It is advertised for 8 people but one double room does not have air conditioning and during the summer the heat on Favignana can be about 40C. We found impossible to get asleep inside the room and had to cancel the invitation to a couple of friends that were to join us. No air conditioning in the living rooms. The private road outside the house does not seem to be limited access and it’s one of the most crowded road I have ever seen in my life because it goes to one of the most visited location in the island. So if you expect to go swimming into an unspoiled location (Cala Rossa) you are wrong. It’s Oxford Street before Christmas. The combination of house and location ruined my holidays. I would never have thought of such a miserable experience with the Thinking traveller."
