"Watermead Country Park is a great place for families and others to walk, cycle run and play and spend time outside enjoying the lakes and river and birds and other wildlife. There is a fun free fully inclusive 5k parkrun/ parkwalk for all adults and children every Saturday morning at 9a.m which is very popular to participate and volunteer whether an elite runner or an elderly walker with a crutch who is recovering from a hip replacement. Parents can bring babies and toddlers in pushchairs or buggies and dogs on leads can take part with their owners. Everybody is welcome whether as a participant, volunteer or spectator."
"Love this park but dog walkers please pick up your dogs poo children walk round too and pull off their shoes with their hands. High water from the melting snow but very beautiful...."
"At last there seems to be some kind of work going on at the toilets which were put out of use before the pandemic. Still nowhere for disabled people to use sanitary facilities but parking is allowed. Glad to see that barbecues are now banned in the park. Nonetheless, despite these drawbacks the park is a delightful place to spend for a stroll with family and friends, though it does get busy at the weekend."
"Come here for Parkrun shame the coffee man was poorly, still no toilets and nowhere for a snack to eat looking forward to when those things are put in place. However I found a nice peaceful spot to sit and watch the world go by while a Robin sat and sang with all the other birds"
"This is a lovely place to clear your head. Beautiful lake. Lovely walk. £2.50 for parking all day is amazing considering you can fish! The only problem I had was when I forgot my radar key. I was unable to unlock the gate, luckily my electric scooter fitted in the pedestrian walkway."
