"Staff are always really friendly, kind and helpful. Very reassuring care for when your pet needs it the most."
"This vet charges £25 to cut cats nails. No prices advertised .. No separate cat waiting area. At booking & when there they just try & flog you monthly payment plans. I was criticised at every turn & made to feel incompetent by this nurse/vet. Probably because I didn’t purchase payment plan. I was relieved to leave. I went elsewhere & so glad I did."
"Thankyou so much to you all for your care compassion and advice re our little mouse Emily. such a tiny little animal, but she was treated and respected with so much care and professionalism. THANKYOU ALL."
"I have been with Clarendon vets for 25 years. I do miss just seeing just one or two vets. It was conducive for our pets and us. Now I see a different vet with each visit. Anyway change must be excepted I thought so give new owners a chance. Last year on my dogs annual health check I was completely forgotten about. Two others who were booked in behind me were called in before. By the time I got into the room all the vet could do was say well you have only waited an hour and we are busy. I Simply could not believe it. I was given discount at the till as the girls were embarrassed. I recently rescued a Yorkie. We have always had yorkies so are aware of needs and traits. We booked him in with you for dentistry. We made sure all jabs, treatments were up to date. After a walk in the dunes a few years ago I noticed he had a slight stickiness in one eye. Nothing serious, but enough to make him use his paws to rub his eyes. I did the usual thing by cleansing his eyes with previously boiled water morning and night. After a week I felt he could probably do with some drops. I rang Clarendon. On the visit the vet said no sign of eye problems just a little watery and red. Relieved I paid the bill and was given some drops. Four days later I could see they was not working. I rang the vets and was told to bring him back. Same again was informed no sign of too much of an issue but let’s assume it’s like a hay fever type sticky eye. He did love the long grass in the dunes so she could be right. Again I paid for another consultation fee albeit slightly reduced!! And paid for new drops. This time the drops worked almost instantly. I disposed of the unused amount after not needing them in only 2 days. Roughly 6 months past and the sticky eye returned. I rang for the drops and was asked to bring my dog in. I explained that this is costly we know the problem he is very healthy just a sticky eye. I can keep at bay with bathing I would just feel better to clear it quickly with drops. The supply vet agreed to give me drops on prescription. Upon going to collect I was told that they need to see my dog and the vet had not written down that she agreed to give me a script.I complained that I felt I was being taken advantage of, money over care. I could easily buy similar over the internet. After discussing this with two vets they agreed that if my dog was seen within six months they would sort the drops for me to collect and I would not have to bring him in and face unnecessary costs. After two years of no sticky eye problems I recently noticed that I was bathing his eye morning and night as it looked a little gunky. I popped in to the practice and I explained the story hoping to get the drops. The girl said you need to bring him in. We need to have seen him within 6 months. I said he had his health check 5 months ago and eyes were checked. The vet then changed the policy and said no we need to have seen him about his eyes in the last 6 months!! Madness are you making the rules up as you go along!! I am a responsible dog owner who knows the breed well, knows dogs very well and would not hesitate to bring my dog in to see a vet if needed. This rule of needs to be seen within 6 months I understand… even though you saw him 5 months ago. I also get meds or tablets being monitored… but eye drops!!! We are allowed to pick up flea, wormer treatments. I can also pick up eye drops for myself any chemist but no drops for a hay fever type condition in a dog unless I pay 53 pounds to walk in the door. The only explanations is financial gain over care!! I did send this email to the vets but was fobbed off. Bring back Ian who was caring, honest and above all practical."
