"I have been using this cab firm for many years with no problems. I absentmindedly dropped my purse in the cab today while rushing to pick up my child. When I noticed it, I immediately phoned the office, and the lady on the phone was very helpful. She rang the driver, Simon (driving a white Hyundai Tucson) found my purse and very kindly returned it to me with no problems at all. I appreciated the helpfulness and the integrity of the staff."

"Booked two cabs three days in advance for an event. On the night, received a text staying one driver was on the way. Driver did not arrive on time and no text regarding the second cab was received. When we phoned, the operator was rude, raised her voice and continuously spoke over us when we were enquiring when exactly we could expect the cabs to arrive. Eventually we were told there is no guarantee of what drivers are available on any given day. They should not accept bookings in advance. Do not use. Would give zero stars if possible. In the end, we went with Uber."

"Terrible excuse of a company, booked a day in advance for my flight at Heathrow the following morning. Had no call to tell me that no driver had accepted the job, was left stood oustide in -3 degrees with my suitcase before calling them myself to understand what was happening. 40 minutes later my driver arrived from Dartford! Probably going to miss my flight now so this company has possibly cost me just under 2k! Wouldn’t recommend for reliability. Full credit to the driver however, that went out of his way to at least try to get me there on time."

"Booked a taxi a week in advance from the o2 to a hotel on the other side of the Thames… so not that far. Me and my friend rang them multiple times asking where it was and what the number plate was. They gave us 2 different cars and number plates…. Neither turned up. They were rude on the phone and eventually said that our PRE-BOOKED taxi had been cancelled because apparently ‘there were too many cars picking people up from the o2 taxi rank’. DO NOT USE!!!!! We then had to wait for 2 hours for a bus and then get a taxi to our hotel. Thanks a lot amber cars for leaving 2 girls alone outside the o2 in the freezing cold late at night, appreciate it xoxoxoxo"

"Booked a taxi last night for 9.30 this morning and prepaid, to enable me to get somewhere and then head off to work. Having left sufficient time to ensure I wouldn't be late, the taxi failed to arrive. When I called to find out why it hadn't turned up and request an ETA I was advised it will be dispatched soon. Fine, but I need an ETA as I have to be somewhere urgently. I was advised at least 5 times over the call that the drivers are self employed and she is unable to contact them. Really? A taxi dispatcher who has no means to contact the drivers they employ, whether directly or not?! I was then told that the drivers pick and choose their jobs. That maybe the case, but as they provide a service under the banner of Amber Cars, is it not company's job to make sure my taxi is on time! I'm sure if I receive a response to this review, she will claim I was abusive, as I told her her attitude is horrendous and hung up. A fair comment in my opinion as prepaying for a taxi and expecting it to show up on time is not an unreasonable request. Being told the drivers aren't contactable and and an ETA is not available is extremely unreasonable and unacceptable. Her response to my comment was to immediately cancel my booking!! A disgraceful and frankly immature reaction. Thankfully Uber had a driver only 3 minutes away but Amber Cars total lack of professionalism, and refusal to take responsibility for their failure to provide the service I had paid for in advance, made me late to my destination and subsequently late for work. If you want to get somewhere on time, and be treated with respect, don't book a taxi with Amber Cars!"
