"Very poor service. The drivers lie to you and tell you that only cash payments are accepted as part of the company policy. Drivers will try to charge you more if you didn’t double check the taxi fare with the call centre. Some drivers drive completely recklessly. If you pass on a complaint on the website, you won’t get a response. It speaks a lot about their overall customer service. Chigwell Taxis was once the best but once bought by Sadlers, the quality massively decreased."

"The drivers are never on time. I travel a lot for work and I use Chigwell Cars as my preferred taxi service. I have accepted the fact that the drivers are always 5-10 minutes late but today I have lost faith in the service. My driver was 20 minutes late this morning. When I request a cab for a specific time I expect them to be on time. And being on time means I expect the driver to be at the pick location at least 5 minutes before the agreed time. This 20 minute delay has a knock on effect when I have a plane to catch, not to mention the high probability of further delays on the M25. After waiting for 10 minutes I decided to call the Chigwell Cars cab office. I was on hold for approximately 5 minutes and was told the driver would arrive shortly, which he did. However, as you are providing a service where I, as a customer, am considered a key stakeholder, I expect to be kept informed regarding the whereabouts of my driver. I should not have to call the office myself to understand why my driver has not arrived at the agreed pick up time. The driver arrived and showed no remorse for the fact he was late. A simple apology would have been suffice and the need for this review would not be necessary. It's a shame I have to write this review because I am a strong believer in supporting local businesses, however I may have to finally make the move over to Uber."
