Reviews
"Booked X3 nights and stayed for x1. No staff on site, no breakfast, no tea/coffee facilities in room. Tiny shower room, sink wasn't clean, bedside tables covered in dust. Room hadn't been cleaned. No-one to complain too."
"Nice guest house in ~20min brisk walk to all of the key locations in Edinburgh. The house is quite old and too be expected squeaks a good bit. The road it is off of is quite by city standards which is nice as well. The breakfast left some to be desired, but the fresh cut up fruit was a nice addition to the limited spread. The owners were very friendly as well."
"Incredibly helpful, friendly staff. Large, clean, well heated rooms (visited during Hogmanay). Wide range of items for breakfast each morning. Accommodated glutton free request. Cozy lounge on first floor to relax. Neighborhood has a strong collection of restaurants in particular Asian options (Thai, Indian and Korean) plus pubs and coffee/sandwich shops. Nearby supermarket. Kings Theatre down the street. A bit of a walk to main Edinburgh tourist areas but not too far. Also a huge park less than 8 minute walk from B&B. No elevator but staff will help carry luggage to your room. Enjoyed meeting other travelers from UK at breakfast. Family friendly."
"Lovely, welcoming and inclusive organisation. The little chapel in the garden is a wonderful addition to the guest house. Free wifi is a plus and always works well. I'm currently attending a group that runs out of the front lounge on a Tuesday and find it very inviting. From what I've seen the place is incredible. Well worth a visit."
"Brilliant welcome and very attentive service; wonderfully friendly. I love the communal breakfast table for the conversation -an important source of information sometimes about things to do or see. The rooms are well appointed and there is access to a lounge. This is a B&B with an emphasis on community -a welcome difference to the average guest house and one which is sustained by the hospitable disposition of Janet and Andrew. The city centre is only 15 minutes walk away and one of the routes in is through a rather splendid park behind the Quatermile district and ending up at the University. Also there are bus stops nearby with several bus routes and some nice eateries nearby. I also appreciated the opportunity to join the hosts and other guests for morning and/or night prayer. The spirituality of the establishment is real but not obtrusive or cloying. Very welcome."
