Reviews of Hidden Horizon Luxury Glamping Pods
"Spent a night at the pods for my daughters 11th birthday. They arranged balloons for the occasion. Absolutely spotless beautifully decorated quiet peaceful place with the most amazing views. Hotub was perfect for relaxing night. Mattresses were amazing had the best night sleep ever."
"The pods are very clean and well laid out. Nice decked area and the hot tub is very spacious and looked after. There was plenty of clean towels and bathrobes for us (although for a male, the robes were a bit small but not really an issue). The under floor heating was great at keeping the place warm. There was bowls for the dogs and wee treats for them too on arrival which was a lovely touch. As we were I winter stay there was a few issues with water. Ie, there was none due to frozen pipes. Meaning, no shower, no toilet, no water from the tap for hand washing. Had thawed out by lunchtime, but frozen again by bedtime. Had to be prepared and filled kettle etc so we could have some water for the morning. Also found close by shopping areas to find a toilet. The haggis pod is the only one used for dogs, I would have thought it may have been better to use one of the front pods, so dogs don’t bark at people walking past and you can keep an eye on them whilst in the hot tub. The views from the pod are outstanding. Amazing view (doth day and night) over Glasgow and the Clyde. There is nice walks near-by which was great when having our two dogs with us. The outdoor area is spectacular, the very large gazebo with seating, tables, seat swings and lighting are all fantastic and well presented. They also have a beautiful fire pit looking over Glasgow. Overall, the stay was amazing if it wasn’t for the lack of water for a good chunk of our stay."
"Absolutely beautiful glamping pods near kilpartick hills. All you need and more. 5 star pods with beautiful decor, private hot tub, games, coffee machine, television, small fridge freezer all you need and more! Would highly recommend. Wonderful stay for my daughters 9th birthday. We stayed in the Haggis pod as we took our dog. Little dog bowl, food bowl on a mat with some treats waiting for her My daughter had a ball and I would defo go back. Cosy warm in the winter as under floor heating. Not to mention the fire pit for marshmallows and the beautiful decorated BBQ area with 2 swings! Absolutely well done to the owners smashed it!!! Will be back!"
"Really, really loved this place! Spent three nights in one of the pods with my partner, and genuinely dont have a bad thing to say. Staff are super lovely and although we had a minor issue when we called about it, it was fixed 10 mins later. (It wasn't the fault of the site owner) The pods themselves are super cozy and the king beds are to die for! Heating is so good in these pods as you have underfloor heating! We stupidly left a box of chocs on the floor and they melted after having the heating on. So definitely dont recommend you leave anything on the floor! The heating wasn't at all uncomfortable and entirely programmable to what you want (we just didn't think about it, learn from our mistake!) Each pod having full led lights and Bluetooth speakers means that regardless of what your doing, the pod is well lit and you can dance around to you music or have your own personal rave! Which we had a great time with. Bathroom is standard bathroom and due to plumbing the pipes can give a bit of a gurgle but I would argue that is to be expected! Pump like dispensers in the shower was so good though, you wont need any shampoo or shower gel if you're not overly particular about what you use. The hot tub is amazing, best suited to a couple (3 at a push in my opinion) but definitely great on a cold night when looking out at the city lights! Couple of things to know if you're planning on booking: There isn't any WiFi, which we weren't concerned about; no where does it say there is WiFi. We both had unlimited data and with EE we both got 5G the whole time. If you wanna watch some movies/shows on streaming sites you'll need to hotspot or download before hand. The kitchen is definitely a working kitchen but I wouldn't say it's a full kitchen, has no oven or microwave. There are 2 hobs and a pot and a pan to cook with. Plenty of crockey, cups, and glassware! Theres a fridge, toaster, kettle and coffee machine (a tassimo machine that uses pods that are provided with your stay) so you are spoilt for choice of hot beverages, but you wont be cooking a romantic meal for 2. This however is way better than what other places offer! (And this doesn't account for the communal grill and bbq area, though December was a bit cold for grilling grub) There are plenty of takeaways that deliver to the site though (although we ordered from a local places called 'The Hovel' cause it had good selection, arrived an hour late and the food was mediocre at best, wouldn't recommend but thats not a reflection on Hidden Horizon, just be careful of your takeaways) and plenty of local dine-ins. Overall a super good wee nook for a romantic night or two away or even one for a few friends to have a break! Clean living space, friendly team and all round a great experience. Will definitely be back!"
"My husband and I booked a stay here on a whim, and we're so happy we did! This place is such a wonderful and relaxing retreat. And those private hot tubs are incredible. The hosts are very welcoming, and it's clear a lot of effort and thought has been put into creating these beautiful pods. I'd recommend trying to arrive at check-in time so you can spend as much time as possible here. There's a lovely communal fire it and barbecue area to spend part of your evening. And did I mention that hot tub?! (Don't forgot to bring wine!) If I lived in Glasgow, I'd already be planning my return trip!"
