The Angels Share Hotel and Bar

"Made a last minute reservation for a busy Saturday. Food was excellent and portions are generous. I had the pakora to start and it was a large portion. Only negative is the staff aren't particularly attentive. I appreciate it was busy but it wasn't too busy that they couldn't come and ask if everything was OK or if we needed anything. Also the young girl serving the drinks could have been more pleasant rather than just putting drinks down without a word and leaving without picking up empties. Still had a good meal and a pleasant evening."

"Our room had a really large, comfortable bed. The hotel is very clean. There are a lot of pros to this hotel: location, wonderful beds, fun aesthetic, really hot water and water pressure in the shower, Dyson fans in the room, a stocked mini-fridge (charges apply), large bath towels, the staff is very kind and helpful. The cons: The rooms do not have a full-length mirror and lack ventilation in the bathrooms. The shower has a small standard-sized shower head (could be updated to a rainfall shower). The rooms are pretty small, but this is no issue for us (only for people who maybe need more space or accessibility). The bar and restaurant were fantastic, and our meal and drinks were delicious. We really enjoyed the dining experience. I would return to this hotel for future stays."

"Restaurant: The food was delicious. No complaints on food or bar. Hotel: 3/5. Beds were larger and comfortable. Rooms are small, but I was fine with that. Bath/Showers could use an updating. They were more of a cheap home shower and not a nice hotel shower. Water also did not drain very well. The plumbing in the hotel needs a huge upgrade though. Anytime someone turned on their sink in the room there was a loud noise that echoed throughout the rest of the rooms. This cause me to make up many times throughout the nights I stayed."

"Was sadly pretty disappointed when myself and a friend had a Christmas meal here last weekend. The service upon arrival was a bit lacking and we were left confused at where we should go or if someone was meant to approach us. The slow service was sadly then kind of the theme of the night - you could tell staff were being overworked and there weren’t enough of them. Every interaction with them they were lovely however you could tell they were stressed :( They had sold out of prosecco and 3/5 of their xmas menu starters which was a bit disappointing. Food was all tasty but nothing was hot, only warm. Plus the beef in our mains was really quite tough / chewy and everything seemed not freshly cooked. We were sat not in the main restaurant but the hotel reception part which was confusing as we had booked well in advance and meant we were easily forgotten about. After our dessert menus took 25 minutes to get to us, we just decided to leave instead. Such a shame as I have had a great experiences there in the past. Hoping management sort it out so their staff are under less pressure and service is better."
